The Fifth International Workshop on Earth Observation and Remote Sensing Applications (EORSA 2018)

The IEEE sponsored biennial conference series, International Workshop on Earth Observation and Remote Sensing Applications (EORSA), will have its fifth conference in Xi’an, China, June 18-20, 2018. The intents of the conference series are three-fold: (1) To build a platform for academic exchanges among researchers from within- and outside-China with interests in Earth observation technologies and remote sensing applications; (2) To promote researches on remote sensing and other geospatial technologies in China and Asia; and (3) To provide an opportunity for international cooperation for researchers and technicians with similar interests. The conference has been alternated among various Chines cities since 2008.
Overall theme of EORSA 2018 is Ecological Civilization and Sustainable Development: Contribution of Remote Sensing. The sub-themes of the conference include the following:

•    Global change and carbon cycling;
•    Land use and land cover;
•    Remote sensing of forests and ecosystems;
•    Global water cycle remote sensing and ocean remote sensing;
•    Urban remote sensing and sustainable development (smart city);
•    Artificial intelligence and machine learning;
•    Remote sensing of coastal areas and wetlands;
•    Remote sensing of air and water quality;
•    Technologies and methods for monitoring subsidence of earth surface; and
•    New data, sensors, algorithms and techniques for detection, interpretation, characterization, and modeling of the Earth surface features.
