Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In the modern world of advanced technologies, polymer-based materials and their composites are in robust demand owing to their incomparable characteristics and fascinating applications. Therefore, we have designed a Special Issue based on the theme “Polymer Nanocomposites and Their Applications”, which is open for researchers and scientists from all around the world to contribute to polymer science with a broad scope including nanoscale materials/nanocomposites with a range of polymers for a variety of applications such as optics/coatings/gas/bio sensing/energies/PV cells/NLO etc. The subject coverage of the current Special Issue will be very broad, and will be related to polymers synthesis through important and innovative methods for cutting-edge applications. The current Issue will cover research on methods for the fabrication of polymer-based materials. This Special Issue will cover the broad research area of new developments in the synthesis, characterization, and applications of polymers, nanocomposites, modelling, doping, and materials.

Therefore, we invite researchers/Ph.D. students and scientists from the international research community involved in the research and development of novel materials to submit their unpublished original research articles, short communications, letters, and reviews that cover the experimental, computational, and theoretical modelling of polymeric nanocomposites and their applications.

The current Special Issue will cover, but not be limited to, the following topics related to “Polymer Nanocomposites and Their Applications”:

  • Polymer synthesis and characterization;
  • Synthesis of polymers and their nanocomposites;
  • Energy;
  • Optoelectronics;
  • Biomedicine/bioengineering;
  • Flexible polymers nanocomposites for optoelectronic/sensors;
  • Polymers/polymer nanocomposites functionalization;
  • Advancement of new/modified techniques;
  • Computational/theoretical modelling;
  • Advanced studies and applications
  • PV cells;
  • Supercapacitors.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Polymers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
