Pathogens Webinar | Blood Parasites in Asia: Trends, Problems and Solutions

Blood parasites tremendously affect humans and animals causing morbidity, mortality, welfare issues and can be transmitted as zoonosis through arthropod vectors, which themselves create their own burden for millions of lives having huge social and economic impacts. Furthermore, multiple infections make diagnosis and treatments more challenging and many blood parasites have counter-reacted to host immune defense and attack mechanisms. Some parasites are developing resistance to drugs or evolved to mutate and survive in their host.
