Dear Colleagues,
Organic and organometallic synthesis of luminescent materials has had a tremendous impact in nanomaterials research, specially from the point of view of the aggregation-induced fluorescent materials with a large range of applications: nanostructured materials oriented to chemical sensing, nanomedicine, biomaterials, biomolecular recognition and new anticancer tools, or the applications of aggregation materials in solar cells or energy conversion and storage. Organic synthesis is the base of the capping of noble metal luminescent nanoparticles, surface modified silica nanoparticles, and mesoporous materials, in search of stability and innovative applications. Either surfactants or synthetic organic as well as organometallic luminescent dyes are deeply studied in order to modify the surface characteristics of nanostructured new entities.
This Special Issue aims to cover the latest applications of organic and organometallic synthesis in the search and discovery of new luminescent nanomaterials, their developments and forthcoming prospects in cutting-edge applications. Its goal is to attract academic and industrial researchers to advance current knowledge of luminescent nanomaterials and present new ideas for future applications and new technologies. The preparation of devices containing those hybrid synthetic organic or organometallic compounds included in the most advanced luminescent nanomaterials and their use in state-of-the-art applications is also welcome in the topic.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Nanomaterials is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
