As 2025 marks the 130th anniversary of Tianjin University, we are honored to invite you to submit high-quality and impactful manuscripts showcasing your research on unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) for this special occasion in the Special Issue entitled “Celebrating the 130th Anniversary of Tianjin University: Invited Papers for design method and engineering application of UUVs”. This Special Issue is dedicated to celebrating Tianjin University’s remarkable contributions to research and development in serial Petrel underwater gliders. We welcome manuscripts addressing a broad spectrum of topics within UUV, including but not limited to the following:
Design theory and method of key disciplines for UUVs;
Multidisciplinary design approach of UUVs;
Design theory and method of bionic underwater robots;
Progress in engineering application of UUVs;
Performance improvement method of UUVs;
UUV networking technology and theory.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Journal of Marine Science and Engineering is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
