Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Musculoskeletal (MSK) disorders are a leading cause of disability worldwide, with significant implications for public health and healthcare systems. The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies is reshaping prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation in orthopaedics and traumatology. This Collection will bring together multidisciplinary contributions from orthopaedics, radiology, and physical medicine, with the aim of highlighting innovative applications of AI and digital tools as well as their broader implications for public health. Key areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
- AI-driven MSK imaging, diagnostics, and outcome prediction
- Machine learning in orthopaedic and trauma surgery planning
- Robotics, navigation, and digital tools in orthopaedic procedures
- Wearables, tele-rehabilitation, and digital platforms in physical medicine and rehabilitation
- Predictive analytics for fracture risk, osteoarthritis, and patient outcomes

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Journal of Functional Morphology and Kinesiology is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs).
