MDPI Establishes Partnership with the International Journal of Orofacial Myology and Myofunctional Therapy (IJOM)

We are pleased to announce that MDPI has been selected as the publisher for the official journal of the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM)—International Journal of Orofacial Myology and Myofunctional Therapy (IJOM, ISSN: 269-2526) starting from January 2025.
Originally launched in 1975, IJOM has been open access publication since 2020 and is the only journal worldwide dedicated to orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs). OMDs include such behaviors as abnormal resting postures of the tongue and lips, forward thrusting of the tongue during swallowing, oral habits, oral breathing, and, more recently, oropharyngeal airway compromise during sleep.
As part of our gold open access model at MDPI, authors benefit from unlimited free access to their work and the ability to retain copyright of their article. Although MDPI charges an article-processing charge (APC), all IAOM members will receive 25% discounts on all APCs, and authors may be eligible for APC waivers. Authors are encouraged to reach out to the IAOM (ijom@iaom.com) if such APCs present a barrier to publication.
A recent editorial was published by Dr. Nancy Pearl Solomon, the Editor-in-Chief of IJOM—“The extensive infrastructure and support provided by MDPI will improve IJOM’s visibility with researchers around the world, expedite scientific review and publication time, and move us towards our indexing goals.” Along with Dr. Solomon, MDPI would like to graciously thank IJOM’s Editorial Board Members who agreed to stay on and support the continued development of the journal.
