As Editor-in-Chief of IJGI, I am pleased to announce the winners of the IJGI Travel Awards for 2021.

Junghwan Kim, a Ph.D. student of the Department of Geography and GIScience, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Champaign, IL 61820, USA; and Xuke Hu, a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Citizen Science, Institute of Data Science, German Aerospace Center (DLR), Jena, 07745, Germany.

With so many high-quality applicants, the evaluation process and final decision were challenging. We would like to thank all the applicants for submitting their diverse and fascinating range of research topics.
