Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Dietary monitoring and assessment are crucial for optimal evaluation of food intake. Due to technological proliferation, electronic devices, including smartphone apps with intelligent features that may improve dietary assessment, have been developed. Well-designed studies which use nutrition apps and consider user experience feedback are lacking, however.

This Special Issue aims to highlight key research activities in the area of mHealth and eHealth in nutrition. It welcomes submissions on intervention and observational trials which use nutrition apps, preferably with intelligent features, to track dietary intake for validation, maintenance of balanced diets, or disease management purposes. App engagement and user-feedback-themed articles are also encouraged to be submitted.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but not be limited to) the following:

  • mHealth;
  • eHealth;
  • Digital health;
  • Digital tools;
  • AI-based interventions;
  • App engagement;
  • Dietary monitoring;
  • Dietary assessment.

I look forward to receiving your contributions.

Guest Editor
