Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce a Special Issue titled "Men’s Health Care and Health Literacy" in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health. Men’s expanded understanding of health care, in the varied configurations of the social construction of masculinity, has proven to be an urgent need in different parts of the world. Complex health situations to promote social well-being and maintain quality of life and the sustainability of health systems have involved the way in which men build the capacity to obtain, process, and understand information and seek services and other health care strategies in order to make appropriate health decisions in their favor and in favor of their community. Health Literacy has proven to be a phenomenon to be incorporated into the global public health agenda given its multidimensional nature and relationship with social determination. It requires the development of comprehensive mapping studies; conceptual analyses; and the development and application of methods, techniques, other technical and technological products, such as the assessment of the impact of health outcomes and the induction of public policies, among the global male population to justify the need for investments in research and its realization. Therefore, we call on the international scientific community to submit their research on the science and popularization of scientific knowledge in this area.

By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and disseminating novel findings, this Special Issue seeks to advance our understanding of men's health, which is a critical area of public health. We encourage researchers to submit their manuscripts for consideration.
