Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
School violence represents a critical public health challenge, profoundly impacting the physical safety and psychological well-being of children and adolescents. Understanding the intricate links between youth risk behaviors and mental health is paramount in developing effective prevention and intervention strategies. This research area is vital in promoting long-term health outcomes and fostering safe school environments.
We are pleased to invite you to contribute to a Special Issue titled "School Violence: A Study of Behavioral and Mental Health Risks Among Young People". This Special Issue will publish high-quality research articles that investigate the prevalence, underlying causes, and multifaceted consequences of school violence, with a specific focus on preventing and overcoming this problem and its direct mental health consequences. This subject aligns pertinently with the journal's scope of addressing contemporary public health concerns and promoting evidence-based healthcare solutions.
For this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following: epidemiological studies on violence and co-occurring risk behaviors; the interplay between mental health disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety, and PTSD) and exposure to violence; the effectiveness of school-based interventions that positively impact mental health; the role of healthcare systems in screening, support, and referral; and the impact of educational interventions in preventing and overcoming negative consequences.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.
