Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
There are more and more cases of diseases that, until recently, seemed to be a thing of the past: measles, pertussis, tuberculosis, diphtheria, and many others. Forgotten diseases are returning primarily because of the growing popularity of anti-vaccination movements and the refusal to vaccinate.
Other factors also contribute to the increasing incidence of infectious diseases:
- changes in our behavior, e.g., changes in eating habits, but also frequent migrations of people (travel, conflicts, economic and political instability),
- global warming,
- the growing problem of bacterial resistance to antibiotics.
This Special Issue aims to present current research on infectious diseases (recurrent and emerging), their mechanisms, prevalence and causes of transmission, treatment methods and effective prevention strategies. The authors are encouraged to present studies on healthcare services in different parts of the world, especially regarding disease transmission related to migration. In infectious diseases, access to prevention and early diagnosis is very important. Manuscripts on patient management, especially vulnerable groups, would also be welcome. The publication will focus on the interconnections of medicine, biology, health sciences and modern technologies, creating a space for the analysis of interdisciplinary research and its practical applications.
This Special Issue is intended for physicians, medical biologists, epidemiologists, public health specialists and anyone interested in an interdisciplinary approach to infectious disease research. Its universal nature makes it a valuable source of knowledge for both theoreticians and practitioners.
We invite submissions for publications including both review studies of current trends and original research that fits into the above topics.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.
