International Day of the Girl Child—“The Girl I Am, the Change I Lead”, 11 October 2025

International Day of the Girl Child 2025, which will be celebrated on 11 October, is a day that commemorates 30 years since the Beijing Declaration—a set of principles to work towards gender equality, to call to action to share girls’ stories, advocate for change, and create girl-led spaces. This year’s theme—“The girl I am, the change I lead”—draws attention to the girls who are stepping up to lead and facing the challenges of today’s world.

In recognition of International Day of the Girl Child 2025, MDPI supports the efforts in sharing the stories of girls from across the world. Through open access publishing, we invite you to explore selected articles, Special Issues, and journals that span fields from social sciences, arts and humanities to medicine and pharmacology.
