Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Dysphagia is common in the elderly; the importance of handling inpatients and follow-up after discharge from a hospital should be addressed according to the advancing aging of society. Recently, rehabilitation for inpatients has been applied in the intensive care unit. Accordingly, oral management should also be intervened in early stage. In addition, more importantly, dysphagia rehabilitation for home visits and an preventive approach for the community-dwelling elderly have been promoted besides conventional rehabilitation only for inpatients.

Additionally, remote diagnosis and treatment via the application of information and communications technology (ICT) is being promoted in the medical field, and the field of dysphagia rehabilitation has high affinity. However, very few reports have been produced so far.

Accordingly, this Special Issue starts with an introduction of visiting dysphagia rehabilitation. We would like to introduce several approaches or new points of view.
