Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

I am serving as Guest Editor of a Special Issue of Genealogy. The focus of this Special Issue will be Haudenosaunee language and culture in the 21st century. I am hoping to pull together a variety of perspectives on the importance of our languages and oral traditions as they relate to Haudenosaunee communities today in the context of climate change, global conflict, and the future well-being of the onkwehonwe. This invite is to all interested participants—language teachers, learners, artists, community members, and academics. To the best of my knowledge, there is no recent collection of writings, by our people, that address our thoughts and concerns about the current state of our cultural health, communities, and/or global affairs. I am hoping that this Special Issue of Genealogy might be the start of an ongoing process of such a dialogue.

We request that, prior to submitting a manuscript, interested authors initially submit a proposed title and an abstract of 400-600 words summarizing their intended contribution. Please send it to the Guest Editor (Email A) or to the Genealogy editorial office ([email protected]). Abstracts will be reviewed by the Guest Editor for the purposes of ensuring proper fit within the scope of the Special Issue. Full manuscripts will undergo double-blind peer-review.

Guest Editor

For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process.
