Travel Award

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the winner of the 2018 Fluids Travel Award: Yaqing Jin, Ph.D. Candidate at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The award consists of 800 Swiss Francs to attend any academic conference in the second half year of 2018 or first half year of 2019.

Mr. Yaqing Jin works on fluid-structure interaction, advanced flow diagnostics, wind energy and turbulence. He will present his research “Turbulence-Driven Reverse Lift on Structures with Deflected Tails” at the 71st Annual Meeting of the APS Division of Fluid Dynamics, 18 November 2018, in Atlanta, GA, USA.

It was a difficult decision, given the exceptional quality of about 100 applications for the award. We would like to thank all applicants and to congratulate Mr. Yaqing Jin for his accomplishments.
