Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce a call for papers for a Special Issue on "Membrane Materials and Techniques for Water Treatment". This issue aims to collate studies focused on the development and application of innovative membrane technologies for water treatment.
The scope of this Special Issue includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:
Membrane materials and their properties for water treatment applications;
The design and optimization of membrane filtration systems for water treatment;
Membrane fouling and mitigation techniques in water treatment;
Membrane-based separation and purification techniques for emerging contaminants removal;
Membrane bioreactors (MBRs) for wastewater treatment;
Hybrid membrane-based techniques for water treatment applications;
The scaling up of membrane technologies for large-scale water treatment.
We welcome original research articles, reviews, and communications on the latest advances in this field. The Special Issue seeks to advance the state-of-the-art in membrane technology research, enhance our understanding of the underlying principles of these materials and techniques, and identify important applications and future directions.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Environments is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
