Climate Change and Ecosystems
A section of Environments (ISSN 2076-3298).
Section Information
This section focuses on understanding how human-dominated processes affect climate change as well as how climate processes interact with ecosystems across local, regional, and global scales. It highlights research in climate change and atmospheric sciences to assess environmental variability, ecosystem responses, and emerging trends. Emphasis is placed on ecosystem modelling, earth system modelling, and quantifying ecosystem–climate feedbacks that influence biogeophysical and biogeochemical processes.
This section also welcomes studies examining interaction among climate and land use and land cover changes, climate-driven ecosystem shifts, and the resilience or vulnerability of natural systems under changing climatic conditions. By integrating observational data, modelling approaches, and cross-disciplinary insights, the section supports scientific advancements that improve understanding of climate–ecosystem interactions and inform adaptation, mitigation, and sustainable environmental management strategies.
