Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
We are inviting submissions to a Special Issue of Energies on the subject of “Advances in Energy Efficiency and Control Systems”. The growing demand for sustainable energy solutions has placed a spotlight on the importance of enhancing energy efficiency and control systems, particularly in the context of solar energy technologies. This Special Issue, “Advances in Energy Efficiency and Control Systems,” seeks to explore the latest developments and innovative practices surrounding solar energy, energy efficiency, and the integration of advanced control mechanisms to optimize performance.
With a focus on key areas such as photovoltaic (PV) systems, thermal energy applications, solar concentrators, and daylighting strategies, this Special Issue will delve into the materials that drive solar technologies and their role in improving overall system efficacy. We will explore cutting-edge materials designed for solar systems that have the potential to significantly enhance energy conversion rates and durability, as well as advancements in storage systems that are crucial for effective energy management.
Furthermore, the integration of smart grids stands at the forefront of modern energy systems, presenting new opportunities for optimizing power distribution and consumption. This Special Issue will examine how smart grid technology can facilitate real-time monitoring and control of energy systems, paving the way for improved energy efficiency and enhanced user interaction.
Measurement techniques play a critical role in achieving these advancements; therefore, this Special Issue will address novel measurement, testing, and characterization methods that enable the accurate performance evaluation of solar systems and energy efficiency frameworks. By highlighting innovative processes and tools for industrialization, we aim to provide insights into the best practices for manufacturing, deployment, and maintenance of high-performing solar energy systems.
Looking ahead, the intersection of solar energy, energy efficiency, and control systems presents a promising landscape for research and development. We invite contributors from diverse backgrounds to share their findings and perspectives, fostering dialog that drives advancements in this vital field. Through collaborative efforts, we anticipate that this Special Issue will serve as a catalyst for innovation, ultimately contributing to a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.
This Special Issue will deal with novel design, optimization, and control techniques for energy efficiency and control systems. Topics of interest for publication include, but are not limited to the following keywords:
- AI for energy systems
- photovoltatic
- linear & nonlinear control
- antidisturbance control
- control engineering

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Energies is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
