Animal Models for Diabetes Mellitus and Its Complications: Advantages and Limitations
Special Issue Editor
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
As guest editor of a Special Issue of the Diabetology journal entitled "Animal Models for Diabetes Mellitus and Its Complications: Advantages and Limitations", I invite you to submit original research articles, systematic reviews, and narrative reviews. This issue will place particular emphasis on evaluating the advantages and limitations of animal models used to study type 1 and type 2 diabetes, as well as their complications, such as nephropathy, retinopathy, neuropathy, and cardiomyopathy. Articles may analyze genetic, chemical, surgical, or dietary models and their usefulness in various aspects of translational research. Papers comparing models regarding pathophysiology, therapeutic efficacy, and application to preclinical research are particularly welcome. The deadline for paper submissions is 28 February 2026, and detailed instructions can be found on the issue's website. We encourage you to contribute to this interdisciplinary issue.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed.
