The 16th International Symposium on Biomineralization (BIOMIN XVI)
The virtue 16th International Symposium on Biomineralization (BIOMIN XVI) will be held online on Aug. 22–27, 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The first formal announcement will be provided in May 2021, and the registration portal (www.biomin2021.cn) will be opened as well.
The topics of the BIOMIN XVI will include, but not limed to, structural biology and biomineralization in living systems; organic matrix/bone/dental mineralization and tissue engineering; bio-mimetic/bio-inspired mineralization and engineering, organic-inorganic interactions and crystallization mechanisms, and microbes mineralization and cell engineering; marine biomineralization; plant biomineralization; biomineralization in paleontology and evolution.
Different from the conventional short zoom seminars, the five-day and long-time-section of the virtual BIOMIN XVI is still a challenging task for us. An immersion conference platform is under preparation for a better organization of the social activities and the poster discussion in the virtual symposium. Any suggestions on the Zoom lecture, Q&A section, and the online Poster section are welcome, which would be of great help for a better organization of the virtual BIOMIN XVI.
