Types of Clinical Complications in Inpatients in Internal Medicine
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
We are living in a medical era in which challenges in clinical management are present each day. The expanded opportunities available in diagnostics and therapeutics are a part of this era. Furthermore, the complexity of internal medicine is based not only on the complexity of each patient but also on the possibility of easily identifying clinical complications.
Complications may arise from the frailty of inpatients, from disease evolution, or from side effects of medical/surgical treatments. The increasing interest in antibiotic stewardship is only a first step in this clinical setting, as is the occurrence of anemia in patients on prolonged antithrombotic treatment, and as are electrolyte abnormalities in the increasing pandemic of heart failure.
We believe that this field presents a growing entity in the daily clinical management of inpatients and are prepared to evaluate the scientific contributions of all scholars interested in publishing their reports.
Thank you for your interest, and welcome to this Special Issue of Complications.
