Biosensors 2023 Young Investigator Award—Winner Announced


We are pleased to announce that the winner of the Biosensors 2023 Young Investigator Award is Dr. Paolo Bollella.

Dr. Bollella is a tenure-track assistant professor at the Department of Chemistry, University of Bari Aldo Moro, Bari, Italy. Dr. Bollella’s research interests are in the field of wearable biosensors, conductive inks, edible biosensors, printing electrodes, electrode modification, and enzyme-based ultra-sensitive amperometric biosensors. Dr. Bollella received his Ph.D. in 2017 and has an outstanding publication record, having garnered a substantial number of citations (Hirsch index 28, Scopus) with broad applications in bio-electrochemical sciences. He has been included among the top 100,000 (top 2%) most influential scientists and engineers for the years 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 (according to statistics provided by Stanford University). He is clearly a rising star in the field of biosensors. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Bollella on his outstanding achievements.

As an awardee, Dr. Bollella will receive an honorarium of CHF 2000, the opportunity to publish a paper free of charge before 31 December 2024 in Biosensors (ISSN: 2079-6374) following peer review, and an electronic certificate.
