Advances in Female Reproductive Biology: Insights from Clinical and Molecular Studies

Dear Colleagues,
Female reproductive biology continues to progress through advances in molecular science and clinical research. Understanding the mechanisms that govern ovarian function, endometrial physiology, implantation, placentation, and reproductive ageing is essential for improving female reproductive health and developing targeted therapies.
This Special Issue features research that integrates clinical findings with mechanistic and molecular insights. We invite original studies and reviews addressing ovarian folliculogenesis, oocyte competence, regulation of the hypothalamic–pituitary–ovarian axis, endometrial receptivity, and early pregnancy biology. Emphasis will be given to studies employing genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, epigenetics, metabolomics, advanced imaging, and in vitro or organoid models to investigate physiological processes and disease mechanisms.
Submissions focusing on reproductive disorders, including polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, premature ovarian insufficiency, infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, and pregnancy-related complications, are encouraged. Research exploring environmental, metabolic, immunological, and endocrine influences, as well as innovations in assisted reproductive technologies and precision medicine, is also welcome.
By linking clinical practice with molecular discovery, this Special Issue aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and support translational advances in diagnosis and treatment in women’s reproductive health.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Biomedicines is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
