Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

I am constructing what I view to be a collection of essential contemporary review manuscripts across our disciplines. In essence, I hope to generate a collection of foundational readings for our discipline that can provide the level of deep explanation of core theories that will support scholars across levels of expertise. The readings should be constructed to provide a new researcher with enough background to gather a firm footing in your domain, as well as help a more established scholar see new connections to be made with your field of expertise. I think back to the remarkable “Handbooks” that once guided our understanding, authored by leaders at the time in their respective fields. Obviously, the nature of publishing and reading has changed significantly in the past 10 years, and I have the unusual opportunity to curate an open-source collection of review articles from leading scholars across the fields of inquiry addressed by the journal Behavioral Sciences.

The goal of this Special Issue is to provide readers with direct access to theorists’ own explanations of their work in the fields addressed by our journal, and in my estimation, will also provide a platform for inspiring new lines of research within and across disciplines.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process.
