The invitation to this Conference is extended by the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics (KITP) and is to be held on 23–26 October 2023 at the KITP in Santa Barbara (USA).
It is the KITP Exploration Conference.

Interfaces and Interfacial Mixing and their non-equilibrium dynamics and kinetics govern a broad range of processes in fluids, plasmas, and materials, from astrophysical to atomic events, in coherent and turbulent states, under conditions of high and low energy densities.

Interfaces are phase boundaries, broadly defined. They couple micro- to macro scales and are a place in which balance is achieved. Their dynamics and kinetics, while challenging to study, can be captured from first principles and can thus impact nearly every area of science, mathematics, and technology.

The Exploration Conference provides the opportunity to bring together researchers from various areas of science, mathematics and engineering, and to have their attention focused on the long-standing problems of interfaces and mixing.
