4th Central European Symposium on Thermophysics (CEST)
Greetings! It is a pleasure to announce that the 4th Central European Symposium on Thermophysics (CEST) will be held in Olomouc, Czech Republic on 31 August–2 September 2022. It is designed to meet an increasing demand for a meeting of researchers in the field of thermophysics in a broad sense. In the coming years, we intend to attract a larger scientific community from more countries, yet we wish for the symposium to remain cozy and pleasant, keeping the number of participants in the range of 40–50. Although CEST is primarily aimed at researchers from Central Europe, people from other countries will participate as well.
Although CEST started only in 2019, it has a rich history: it is a successor of the international conference Thermophysics organized since 1996. However, CEST provides a new and fresh format. Most distinctly, it has four co-chairs, and each year, one co-chair acts as the CEST chair and organizes the symposium in a different country.
The symposium will include invited lectures and oral and poster presentations. Essential will be discussions on specialized topics from academic and industrial research and the exchange of invaluable experiences in the field of thermophysical properties in a broad sense. Great care will be taken to provide a large number of presentations for young scientists and PhD students.
The proceedings of the three CEST conferences (CEST 2019, 2020, and 2021) were published as AIP Conference Proceedings volumes 2133, 2275, and 2429. We also edited the three previous proceedings, then under the Thermophysics conference. These were published with AIP as volumes 1752, 1866, and 1988. They are all indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases.
CEST 2022 is organized by the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic and Department of Physics, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Slovakia.
