Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global threat that affects food safety and human health. To address this issue, a global approach is needed, involving

  • Better use of antimicrobials: Using antimicrobials in food production more effectively;
  • Preventing and monitoring transmission: Preventing and monitoring the transmission of resistance in the food chain;
  • Educational programs: Developing and supporting educational programs for consumers and antimicrobial prescribers;
  • International collaboration: Researchers and policy-makers collaborating internationally to reduce the spread of AMR.

Therefore, the main subject of this Special Issue includes any educational and/or training programs for antimicrobial stewardship to reduce or optimize antimicrobial use for livestock production and agrifood systems.
