Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

I invite you to submit original research papers and review articles to the 3rd Edition of the Special Issue entitled ‘Animal Reproduction: Semen Quality Assessment’.

A male's fertility is primarily determined by his semen quality. Semen evaluation is a comprehensive diagnostic process that allows for the prediction of fertilization outcomes. Sperm is a differentiated germ cell whose primary purpose is to reach the oocyte and participate in the fertilization process. Sperm from different animal species differ in structure and the mechanisms underlying their function. This variability is determined by many factors that are crucial for determining the fertilizing capacity of sperm. Due to the constantly evolving progress in andrological research, particularly resulting from the implementation of specialized tests for semen quality analysis, there is a need for further research related to the assessment of male reproductive potential. Such assessment takes on a particular significance when assisted reproductive technologies are used.

The aim of this Special Issue is to present scientific achievements in the field of the application of the latest andrological diagnostic techniques in the assessment of sperm cellular structures to improve male reproductive performance.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers).
