Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The Special Issue "Emerging Models in Veterinary and Comparative Pathology" focuses on the latest advancements in experimental and naturally occurring disease models that enhance our understanding of pathology across animal species, including those from an evolutionary point of view. The issue explores innovative animal models used to study infectious diseases, cancer, and immune-mediated disorders, as well as novel diagnostic techniques and biomarker discovery. It also highlights comparative pathology’s contributions to One Health initiatives, emphasizing the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. Additionally, the issue covers advancements in molecular pathology, digital pathology, and AI-driven diagnostics, which are transforming disease detection and classification. Contributions will also address ethical considerations, the refinement of animal models, and efforts to reduce reliance on traditional laboratory animals through alternative approaches. By bringing together cutting-edge research, this Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive perspective on emerging trends and methodologies shaping the future of veterinary and comparative pathology, fostering collaboration among veterinarians, pathologists, and biomedical researchers.
