Comments and Suggestions for Authors

In the title "Remote Nodes" have been used, but it is never written again in the whole article. It is suggested to write here "Class A IoT devices" as mentioned in the Conculsion section. Title can be as follows:

"Efficient Runtime Firmware Update Mechanism for Class A IoT devices using LoRaWAN".

Comments on the Quality of English Language

Minor editing of English language is required at some places to make it more readable. This sentence in Abstract can be rewrite in a more understandable manner. "The proposed method involves fragmenting the firmware to be updated, inserting it into the application server database, and subsequently sending it to remote devices via downlink messages, without the need to change the IoT device’s class".

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The paper presents a method for updating IoT firmwares using LoRaWAN resources. The idea is very interesting and relevant. The paper is very well written and no major problems were identified in the English writting. Only the total number of pages (26 pages) seems a bit excessive to me.

In the abstract, I just would suggest to avoid expressions as "ideal". Otherwise, the abstract is very clear and resumes well the manuscript. And the introduction is also very clear and concise.

In my opinion, section 2 (Related Work) is too long. Although the section is very clear, it seemed a bit excessive to me. Maybe you can reduce part of the details presented for each reference mentioned.

Taking into account the references cited in the manuscript, it is a mix of technical and practical applications, which is interesting and relevant. And several references are recent, which is a positive point.

Please verify the copyright when using images from boards and other suppliers (it is not clear if a copyright mention is required in Figure 8).

Figure 9 is very detailed, congratulations to the authors.

I'm not sure if figures 11 to 14 are necessary; maybe supressing one or more of those images can be useful to reduce the excessive length of the manuscript.

The conclusions section seems very summarized; otherwise, the proposed continuation of the work is appropriate.
