Cover Story: This paper presents an uncertainty-aware visual system for image pre-processing. First, uncertainty-measures are provided in order to obtain an arbitrary uncertainty quantification of an input image. Second, prominent image pre-processing operations are adapted such that they transform the input image as well as its uncertainty. Here, users can create arbitrary image pre-processing pipelines and review the resulting image as well as their uncertainty using a juxtaposition visualization, a superposition visualization or an embedded iso-surface visualization in the original image.
