Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

My overall opinion is that the paper is quite good. However some minor comments:

1) Definition of SNR in 12. Define the value of h. If it is the channel, I guess that it should be power of the channel and consequently it should be the absolute value of h and raised to two.

2) Figures 11,12 and 13 the legends are so small that it is not possible to see the text of the legends nor the figures.

3) Figures 1,3,5 there are small text there that it is not possible to see.

4) Figures 7,8,9 the quality of the figures is not good. Improve the resolution.

The topic is interesting an falls within the scope of the journal.

Unfortunately, the paper is marred by a very large number of typos, awkward terms or expressions, and collocation mistakes, though the structure of sentences is generally sound. For example, the authors write "up gradation" rather than " upgrading", and "superior then" instead of "superior to". It has therefore to be extensively revised with the help of a native English speaker.

The Introduction should be rewritten more clearly. They authors provide a large flow of quite assertive statements (this is more efficient that that, etc.), which somewhat relate the technical elements involved in the paper (network coding, satellites, D2D communications, etc.), but without a clear and logical flow of arguments.

Mathematical formulas are often provided a bit out-of-the-blue without a preventative definition of the mathematical symbols involved. A glossary of terms and abbreviations would help.

The number of simulation runs is not very large, and confidence intervals should also be provided for the results.

Finally, the authors should provide and justify the choices made for the simulation parameters.
