This journal retracts the article titled “Effects of Cr2O3 Content on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Al2O3 Matrix Composites” [1], cited above.
Following publication, concerns were brought to the attention of the Editorial Office regarding citation anomalies, inconsistencies in the data availability statement, and concerns relating to the authenticity of the authorship list presented in this study [1].
Adhering to our standard procedure, an investigation was conducted by the Editorial Office and Editorial Board that confirmed that a significant proportion of the citations were not appropriately relevant, including an inappropriately high level of self-citation, which is not compliant with MDPI’s citation policies (https://www.mdpi.com/ethics#_bookmark20). Furthermore, while raw data were provided, the Editorial Board identified concerns relating to the overall quality of the findings presented. Finally, the contribution of a number of the listed authors could not be fully verified. As a result, the Editorial Board has lost confidence in the reliability of the findings and decided to retract this publication [1], as per MDPI’s retraction policy (https://www.mdpi.com/ethics#_bookmark30).
This retraction was approved by the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Coatings.
The authors did not agree to this retraction.
