| Kickout | Any time the GK kicks the ball from the ground or the hands because the ball is traveling over the end line, having been touched last by a player on the opposing team or from conceding a goal. The kickout will always be taken from the 20 m |
| Kickout Won | When the team that takes the kickout gains possession of the ball. A foul committed by the opposing team constitutes a kickout won |
| Kickout lost | When the team that takes the kickout does not gain possession of the ball. A foul committed by the team that takes the kickout constitutes a kickout lost. A kickout that goes directly out of play constitutes a kickout lost. |
| Kickout won % | Kickouts won/total kickouts as a percentage |
| Short Kickout | When the kickout from the goalkeeper is received inside the 45 m line |
| Long Kickout | When the kickout from the goalkeeper is received outside the 45 m line |
| Contested Kickout | When an opposition player is within 2 metres of the player gaining possession |
| Uncontested Kickout | There are no opposing players within 2 metres of the player gaining possession |
| Kickout won/lost Clean | A player wining/losing the kickout without the ball being touched by another player whilst remaining in control of the ball |
| Kickout won/lost in a break | A player indirectly winning/losing the kickout and remaining in possession of the ball |
| Kickout won/lost side-line | The ball is played directly over the side-line following the kickout, or is deflected over the side-line by the team in possession or opposition |
| Kickout won/lost free | In pursuit of winning the kickout, a foul is committed by the team in possession or the opposition |
| Kickout won/lost the other | The nature of possession won/lost cannot be defined due to television replays. |
| Time Taken for Kickout | Time taken between the ball going dead via score or wide and the goalkeeper kicking the ball to start play. Injuries and stoppages will not be included in this. |
| Opposition Score | The opposition team wins the kickout, and the result of their attack is either a goal or a point |
| Opposition Shot | The opposition team wins the kickout, and a result of their attack is an attempted shot at goal or point |
| Score | The result of the kickout team winning their kickout is an attack that results in a goal or a point for the kickout team |
| Shot attempt | The result of the kickout team winning their kickout is an attempted shot, which is a wide shot, a blocked shot or a short shot by the kickout team. |
| Turnover | Following the kickout, the team wins possession. The ball is then turned over by the opposition. |

| Flat 4 | Team in possession places four players across the 21 m line; all other players gather centrally in zones 2/5/8. |
| Purposeful Movement | When the team in possession makes several dynamic runs with intent(sprint) that take multiple angles of direction, designed to create space and make it difficult for opposition players to track |
