Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dai et al tested Shor’s algorithm into quasi-Shor algorithms by replacing the modular exponentiation with alternative unitary operations. The manuscript was written well. The methodology is complete and adequately described. The results was clearly shown. The quality of figures are good. The references are recent and related.

However, I  some comment:

the abstract is need to improve. Its methodology and conclusion sections should be written better.

Please mention the aim of the study in the last paragraph of introduction.

The sentence 'However, few works on this subject have 31
been reported so far.' is not enough to justify the study. Please justify the reason for the study in the introduction section.

All numbers should be uniform in whole of the manuscript.

Please check some minor typo errors.

Please more discuss about the results of Table 1.

Please re-write the conclusion, it is not completely support the results.

Some sentences needs reference(s), please check.

Reviewer 2 Report

In the manuscript entitled “Quasi-Shor algorithms for global benchmarking of universal

quantum processors”, the authors have proposed a quasi-Shor algorithm, which replaces the modular exponentiation in Shor's algorithm with other unitary operations, preserves similar frame but simplifies quantum operations. As a whole the paper is acceptable, but some minor corrections and changes should be made.

Remarks:

1-The authors should carefully double-check the whole manuscript to avoid typos. For example, in Line 25 there is one space before the number of references [48-51].

2-Please, reread the manuscript carefully in order to improve the language and style, including the author contributions sections, the first and second sentences from the journal template should be changed into specific author contributions.
