Structural Fire Protection of Steel Structures in Arctic Conditions
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
After an introduction on the subject of fire protection of structures in the Arctic and Antarctic environment, the article deals with some experiments on specific fire protective layers. The experiments are well described and well discussed, however, there is some confusion in the identification and numbering of the experiments, in particular the words “experiment”, “sample”, and “specimen” seems to be used as synonyms.

The paper studied the structural fire protection of steel structure in arctic condition with experimental work. However, the introduction and background information is not enough. More reference are required for the literature review. The author should also discuss the advantages and disadvantages of other related research, compared to the experimental study in this manuscript. More discussion should be given for the experimental results including the implication, the challenges, and the future work. Compared to other's work, are the results in the manuscript similar or different and what are the reasons? More information is also required in the conclusion section.
