Reference Manuscript: Effect of the Oasis Transformation Process on the Conversion of Soil Organic Carbon Reservoir

Dear Editor of Land Journal

I carefully reviewed the reference article (land-2875479) whose information I provided above.

I begin my sentences with the need for the article to pay attention to the use of professional scholar terminology. Information regarding the term “waste land” and other land use types should be detailed in the material section. Giving abbreviations without definition in the abstract creates tremendous difficulty for the reader.

The term "Effects of" in the title is pretty commonplace. I searched the word "hypothesis" in your manuscript. However, it was not found.

Rewrite the title of the article based on the outcome of your hypothesis.

Under different land uses in the oasis, an expression such as SOC to SIC conversion increased/decreased may be appropriate. Of course, write out the hypothesis of your study clearly at the end of the Introduction.

My comments section by section and line by line are attached.

ABSTRACT:

Please, the phrase “p<0.05” is based on which statistical test? This should be stated briefly in the abstract.

INTRODUCTION:

Page 2, Line 76-79; Indeed, the latest regional  studies  effect of the land use to soil organic carbon content showed. Please refer to the literature:

MATERIALS AND METHODS

Lines 98-101; Reference this information from official or scientific sources

Provide the legend of the bottom left map of Figure 1.

Line 112; Please provide a reference to this form of soil sampling

Line 215-219: Provide reference to Excel 2019, SPSS 27, CANOCO 5, Origin 2018

The abbreviation "RDA" appears in the Results (Line 303) and abstract of your article. Probably this is "Regularized discriminant analysis". However, neither the material is based on the method nor is any information given. Please meticulously restructure the structural writing of the article

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

In the Results section, efforts are made to present the results clearly. In the Discussion section, active discussion is carried out, focusing especially on different "Oasis" areas.

Additionally, Section 4.3. General information is shared in the environmental factors section. The authors do not include any environmental variables in their statistical analysis. In future studies, it may be recommended to include climate parameters and satellite image-based plant indices in the analysis through larger data sets.

Sincerely

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Dear Author,

it was very interesting to read your paper that I found well organize. I have only a small suggestion to give to improve the readability. In Fig 2 that there a lot of letter on the bar, maybe you can consider to put it in vertical direction.

The manuscript is acceptable in the actual form

good luck.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The manuscript entitled “Effect of the Oasis Transformation Process on the Conversion 2 of Soil Organic Carbon Reservoir”; addresses an interesting topic of land use change effect on soil organic carbon pool in the arid ecosystem. Soil physio-biochemical properties change with land use pattern and soil depths, play an important role in soil organic carbon conversion in the soil inorganic carbon and soil respiration. This manuscript used one time soil sample collection and see the changes with land uses.

Sample collection and analysis part was not clear it needs more clarity for the reader. Need proper captions in the figures. Authors need to read more relevant studies which will be helpful to improve the quality of the manuscript. Need English language and grammar error improvement in whole manuscript. Major comments provided in the pdf file. Manuscript covers important research topics and fulfils the journal conditions so I would suggest major revision and after improving the comments accept it for publication.
