The journal retracts the article entitled “Computerized Detection of Calcium Oxalate Crystal Progression” [1], cited above.
Following publication, concerns were brought to the attention of the Editorial Office regarding the dataset and overlapping images between this article [1] and an earlier publication [2], produced by different author groups.
Adhering to our standard procedure, the Editorial Office and Editorial Board conducted an investigation that confirmed an overlap between image Figures 1 and 5 in [1], and Figures 1b and 4 in [2], presenting different experimental conditions and without proper attribution or citation. Further concerns relating to the accuracy of the dataset utilized in this study could not be satisfactorily resolved. Consequently, the Editorial Board has lost confidence in the reliability of the findings and has decided to retract this publication [1], as per MDPI’s retraction policy (MDPI|Research and Publication Ethics, https://www.mdpi.com/ethics).
This retraction was approved by the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Crystals.
