Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper "Miniaturized sulfite-based gold bath for controlled electroplating of zone plate nanostructures" submitted by Ohlin et al. is of adequate quality for publication.

The authors go in the details of the manufacturing process which are too often lacking in other papers.

I recommend publication.

Reviewer 2 Report

The subject of investigation of the manuscript is the gold bath for controlled electroplating process for fabrication of nanostructures, which can find application as X-ray optical elements. The manuscript is well structured. The authors presented the necessary details in the experimental part. Electroplating process of gold on chip is described in detail in the text, so that it can be reproduced by other researchers.

I believe that the topic of the article is relevant in terms of the method used to obtain nanostructures for optical diffraction elements for X-rays. The authors have considered the advantages of DC plating over the pulse plating process.

Based on above conclusions, I can suggest that the manuscript be published in Micromachines journal.
