Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors presented an automatic track management functionality using the PAKF-JPDA. The method was able to track multiple vessels. In this research, the comparison is carried out between the proposed method and visualization, but other methods are not mentioned. Therefore, quantitative comparison between proposed method and other method is recommended.

In this paper authors presents approach for elliptical multiple extended target tracking using high resolution marine radar data. The presented work has scientific significance as well as importance in application and could be accepted after minor modifications. The text is written correctly and I have no requests from that side except some minor shortcomings.

There is no need to define abbreviations in the abstract if they are not used in the same. e.g. Extended Target Tracking (ETT), …

Maybe better design, or move Table 1 in Appendix or similar.

Page 16, line 282: Authors stated “On the other hand, Sensor 3 was the only one which covered ..." Can the author further elaborate this and sentence after this in the text.

The Section Summary needs to be slightly modified and expanded with detailed findings/conclusions. I suggest that the authors in Section 7 (Summary) repeat the bulleted list from page 3 line 85-90 i.e. „Our two-fold contributions are therefore listed as follows: …” in order to demonstrate the importance of the study.

The literature is adequate but authors should check them due to its volume. Also, I’m not sure that the first 2 references should be written like this.

Reviewer 3 Report

This article is full of content and worth publishing. However, I have a few small questions that need to be explained: 1. When the detection method meets the non homogeneous multi-sensor, the performance and framework will have some changes. Please supplement this aspect. 2. Parameter settings in Table 2: The rationality, selectivity and performance dependency of this parameter need to be further clarified.
