Special Issue Information
In the 21st century, the traditional manufacturing industry has ushered in a new stage of rapid development in all manufacturing processes, from production program layout and planning, production process modeling and simulation, and production management to manufacturing services, etc. Machine tools, also known as the "industrial masterbatch", are used to produce approximately 40%-60% of the core manufacturing facilities of the production system. Their performance directly determines the production system's operating capacity and quality. Therefore, machine tools are fundamental to the guarantee of modern industrial development.
With regard to the current challenges arising from changes to the manufacturing process, this Special Issue aims to clarify the latest advances in key technologies in the field of machine tools, and provide an overview of innovative manufacturing technology and development trends in the domain of machining. This is in order to effectively predict and grasp the complexity of academic trends in the field of machine tools and machining.
The scope of this Special Issue includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
