In GPS-denied environments, the spatio-temporal coupling of errors caused by dynamic network topologies poses a fundamental challenge to cooperative localization, presenting existing methods with a dilemma: approaches pursuing global optimization lack dynamic adaptability, while those focusing on local adaptation struggle to guarantee global convergence. To address this challenge, this paper proposes ST-DCL, a cooperative localization framework based on a novel principle of closed-loop spatio-temporal decoupling. The core of ST-DCL comprises two modules: a Dynamic Weighted Multidimensional Scaling (DW-MDS) optimizer, responsible for providing a globally consistent coarse estimate with provable convergence, and a specially designed Spatio-Temporal Graph Neural Network (ST-GNN) corrector, tasked with compensating for local nonlinear errors. The DW-MDS effectively suppresses interference from historical errors via an adaptive sliding window and confidence weights derived from our error propagation model. The key innovation of the ST-GNN lies in its two newly designed components: a Dynamic Topological Attention Module for actively modulating neighbor aggregation to inhibit spatial error diffusion, and a Dilated Causal Convolution Module for modeling long-term temporal dependencies to curb error accumulation. These two modules form a closed loop via a confidence feedback mechanism, working in synergy to achieve continuous error suppression. Theoretical analysis indicates that the framework exhibits bounded-error convergence under dynamic topologies. In simulations involving 200 nodes, velocities up to 50 m/s, and 15% NLOS links, the ST-DCL achieves a normalized root mean square error (NRMSE) of 0.0068, representing a 21% performance improvement over state-of-the-art methods. The practical efficacy and real-time capability are further validated through real-world flight experiments with a 10-UAV swarm in complex, GPS-denied scenarios. Full article

Multi-object tracking (MOT) in videos captured by Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) is critically challenged by significant camera ego-motion, frequent occlusions, and complex object interactions. To address the limitations of conventional trackers that depend on static, rule-based association strategies, this paper introduces STC-SORT, a novel tracking framework whose core is a two-level reasoning architecture for data association. First, a Spatio-Temporal Consistency Graph Network (STC-GN) models inter-object relationships via graph attention to learn adaptive weights for fusing motion, appearance, and geometric cues. Second, these dynamic weights are integrated into a 4D association cost volume, enabling globally optimal matching across a temporal window. When integrated with an enhanced AEE-YOLO detector, STC-SORT achieves significant and statistically robust improvements on major UAV tracking benchmarks. It elevates MOTA by 13.0% on UAVDT and 6.5% on VisDrone, while boosting IDF1 by 9.7% and 9.9%, respectively. The framework also maintains real-time inference speed (75.5 FPS) and demonstrates substantial reductions in identity switches. These results validate STC-SORT as having strong potential for robust multi-object tracking in challenging UAV scenarios. Full article

In the context of global climate governance and China’s ‘Dual Carbon’ strategy, enhancing carbon emission efficiency (CEE) is a critical pathway toward high-quality development. Urban–rural integration (URI), reshaping urban–rural structures and resource allocation, has significant environmental implications. However, the mechanisms through which URI influences city-level CEE remain underexplored. Using panel data from 283 Chinese prefecture-level cities (2005–2022), we employ a Spatial Durbin Model to investigate URI’s direct and spatial spillover effects. First, spatiotemporally, URI demonstrates an imbalanced pattern, with higher levels in eastern coastal regions and lower levels in central and western areas. Conversely, CEE exhibits a north–south divide, with higher efficiency in the south. URI advancement has been sluggish with persisting imbalances, whereas CEE has demonstrated a consistent upward trend. Second, the relationship between URI and CEE is characterized by nonlinearity and spatial dependence. The direct effect follows a U-shaped curve, initially inhibiting but later promoting local CEE once a threshold is surpassed (URI = 0.103). The spatial spillover effect follows an inverted U-shaped trajectory (threshold URI = 0.179), suggesting that inter-regional dynamics evolve from synergistic promotion to potential competition. These findings underscore the necessity of phased, adaptive policies to unlock the potential between URI and CEE, providing a scientific basis for coordinating urban–rural development with carbon neutrality objectives. Objective gait assessment is essential for post-stroke rehabilitation monitoring, yet optical motion capture systems remain inaccessible to most clinical settings due to cost and infrastructure constraints. This study assessed the validity of the REEV SENSE IMU for measuring spatiotemporal gait parameters in post-stroke individuals and evaluated assistive device effects on measurement accuracy. Twenty chronic post-stroke participants were enrolled, and fourteen completed the study (ten without an assistive device, four using a cane) after applying pre-defined exclusion criteria (walking speed <0.28 m/s, n = 6). Participants walked at self-selected speed while simultaneously being recorded by REEV SENSE IMUs and optical motion capture. Spatiotemporal parameters from matched heel strikes were compared using intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC), mean relative error (MRE), and Bland–Altman analysis. Temporal parameters demonstrated excellent reliability: contact time (ICC 0.96–0.99, MRE 2.77–5.45%), stride duration (ICC 0.95–0.99, MRE 2.57–2.62%), and cadence (ICC 0.98–0.99, MRE 1.80–1.93%). Spatial parameters showed greater variability, with stride length degrading substantially in slow-walking conditions (Cane group: ICC 0.76, MRE 8.60%). REEV SENSE provides reliable temporal parameter measurement comparable to commercial systems, positioning it as a practical tool for clinical gait monitoring in post-stroke rehabilitation. However, spatial parameter accuracy requires cautious interpretation in slow-walking regimes, necessitating independent validation when clinical decisions depend on precise stride length estimates. Synaptic plasticity constitutes a fundamental mechanism of neural systems. Rhythmic activities (e.g., θ and γ oscillations) play a critical role in modulating network plasticity efficiency in biological neural systems. However, the rules governing plasticity and adaptive regulation of in vitro cultured networks under structured electrical stimulation remain insufficiently characterized. To quantitatively investigate these regulatory effects within a highly controlled and low-interference environment, we utilized primary mice hippocampal neurons cultured on multielectrode arrays (MEAs) and executed two dedicated sets of experiments. (1) Spatiotemporal electrical stimulation paradigms, combined with connectivity analysis, revealed pronounced regulation effects of network plasticity. (2) Physiologically inspired rhythmic stimulation (θ: 7.8 Hz, γ: 40 Hz) with varying pulse repetitions was then applied. Although both rhythms induced distinct frequency-dependent plasticity modulation, the disparity between their modulatory effects progressively diminished with increasing stimulation pulse numbers, suggesting an intrinsic adaptive regulatory mechanism. Collectively, our findings characterize the effects of plasticity regulation and reveal the mechanisms underlying adaptive convergence in in vitro neuronal systems. These results advance the understanding of network plasticity, providing a technical foundation for functional shaping and modulation of in vitro neural networks while supporting future explorations into learning-oriented modulation. Accurate traffic flow prediction is a core component of intelligent transportation systems, supporting proactive traffic management, resource optimization, and sustainable urban mobility. However, urban traffic networks exhibit heterogeneous multi-scale periodic patterns and time-varying spatial interactions among road segments, which are not sufficiently captured by many existing spatio-temporal forecasting models. To address this limitation, this paper proposes PDR-STGCN (Periodicity-Aware Dynamic Relational Spatio-Temporal Graph Convolutional Network), an enhanced STGCN framework that jointly models multi-scale periodicity and dynamically evolving spatial dependencies for traffic flow prediction. Specifically, a periodicity-aware embedding module is designed to capture heterogeneous temporal cycles (e.g., daily and weekly patterns) and emphasize dominant social rhythms in traffic systems. In addition, a dynamic relational graph construction module adaptively learns time-varying spatial interactions among road nodes, enabling the model to reflect evolving traffic states. Spatio-temporal feature fusion and prediction are achieved through an attention-based Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) network integrated with graph convolution operations. Extensive experiments are conducted on three datasets, including Metro Traffic Los Angeles (METR-LA), Performance Measurement System Bay Area (PEMS-BAY), and a real-world traffic dataset from Guizhou, China. Experimental results demonstrate that PDR-STGCN consistently outperforms state-of-the-art baseline models. For next-hour traffic forecasting, the proposed model achieves average reductions of 16.50% in RMSE, 9.00% in MAE, and 0.34% in MAPE compared with the second-best baseline. Beyond improved prediction accuracy, PDR-STGCN reveals latent spatio-temporal evolution patterns and dynamic interaction mechanisms, providing interpretable insights for traffic system analysis, simulation, and AI-driven decision-making in urban transportation networks. Future lunar south pole missions face dual challenges of highly variable illumination and rugged terrain that directly constrain rover mobility and energy sustainability. To address these issues, this study proposes a dynamic illumination-constrained spatio-temporal A* (DIC3D-A*) path-planning algorithm that jointly optimizes terrain safety and illumination continuity in polar environments. Using high-resolution digital elevation model data from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Laser Altimeter, a 1300 m × 1300 m terrain model with 5 m/pixel spatial resolution was constructed. Hourly solar visibility for November–December 2026 was computed based on planetary ephemerides to generate a dynamic illumination dataset. The algorithm integrates slope, distance, and illumination into a unified heuristic cost function, performing a time-dependent search in a 3D spatiotemporal state space. Simulation results show that, compared with conventional A* algorithms considering only terrain or distance, the DIC3D-A* algorithm improves CSDV by 106.1% and 115.1%, respectively. Moreover, relative to illumination-based A* algorithms, it reduces the average terrain roughness index by 17.2%, while achieving shorter path length and faster computation than both the Rapidly-exploring Random Tree Star and Deep Q-Network baselines. These results demonstrate that dynamic illumination is the dominant environmental factor affecting lunar polar rover traversal and that DIC3D-A* provides an efficient, energy-aware framework for illumination-adaptive navigation in upcoming missions such as Chang’E-7. Progressive rock slope destabilization poses significant geohazard risks, necessitating advanced monitoring frameworks to detect precursory failure signals. This study presents a comprehensive time-dependent evaluation of the displacement probability (CTEDP) model, which integrates GNSS-derived spatiotemporal data with multi-parameter reliability indices to enhance landslide risk assessment. Five monitoring points on a destabilizing rock slope were analyzed from mid-November 2024 to early January 2025 using kinematic metrics (velocity, acceleration, and jerk), statistical measures (e.g., moving averages), and reliability indices (RI0, RI1, RI2, and RIcombined). Point 1 exhibited the most critical behavior, with a cumulative displacement of ~60 mm, peak velocities of 34.5 mm/day, and accelerations up to 1.15 mm/day2. The CTEDP for active points converged to 0.56–0.61, indicating sustained high risk. The 90th percentile displacement threshold was 58.48 mm for Point 1. Sensitivity analysis demonstrated that the GNSS-derived reliability indices dominated the RIcombined variance (r = 0.999, explaining 99.8% of variance). The first- and second-order reliability indices (RI1, RI2) at Point 1 exceeded the 60-index threshold, indicating a transition to Class B (“Low Risk—Trend Surveillance Required”) status, while other points showed coherent deformation of 37–45 mm. Results underscore the framework’s ability to integrate spatiotemporal displacement, kinematic precursors, and statistical variability for early-warning systems. This approach bridges gaps in landslide prediction by accounting for spatial heterogeneity and nonlinear geomechanical responses. Full article

Reliable forecasting of karst spring discharge is critical for sustainable groundwater resource management under the dual pressures of climate change and intensified anthropogenic activities. This study proposes a Heterogeneous Spatiotemporal Graph Attention Network (H-STGAT) to predict spring discharge dynamics at Shentou Spring, Shanxi Province, China. Unlike conventional spatiotemporal networks that treat all relationships uniformly, our model derives its heterogeneity from a graph structure that explicitly categorizes spatial, temporal, and periodic dependencies as unique edge classes. Specifically, a dual-layer attention mechanism is designed to independently extract hydrological features within each relational channel while dynamically assigning importance weights to fuse these multi-source dependencies. This architecture enables the adaptive capture of spatial heterogeneity, temporal dependencies, and multi-year periodic patterns in karst hydrological processes. Results demonstrate that H-STGAT outperforms both traditional statistical and deep learning models in predictive accuracy, achieving an RMSE of 0.22 m3/s and an NSE of 0.77. The model reveals a long-distance recharge pattern dominated by high-altitude regions, a finding validated by independent isotopic evidence, and accurately identifies an approximately 4–6 month lag between precipitation and spring discharge, which is consistent with the characteristic hydrological lag identified through statistical cross-covariance analysis. This research enhances the understanding of complex mechanisms in karst hydrological systems and provides a robust predictive tool for sustainable groundwater management and ecological conservation, while offering a generalizable methodological framework for similar complex karst hydrological systems. Maize is one of the top three crops globally, ranking only behind rice and wheat, making it an important crop of interest. Aboveground biomass is a key indicator for assessing maize growth and its yield potential. This study developed an efficient and stable biomass prediction model to estimate the aboveground biomass (AGB) of spring maize (Zea mays L.) under subsurface drip irrigation in arid regions, based on UAV multispectral remote sensing and machine learning techniques. Focusing on typical subsurface drip-irrigated spring maize in arid Xinjiang, multispectral images and field-measured AGB data were collected from 96 sample points (selected via stratified random sampling across 24 plots) over four key phenological stages in 2024 and 2025. Sixteen vegetation indices were calculated and 40 texture features were extracted using the gray-level co-occurrence matrix method, while an integrated feature-selection strategy combining Elastic Net and Random Forest was employed to effectively screen key predictor variables. Based on the selected features, six machine learning models were constructed, including Elastic Net Regression (ENR), Gradient Boosting Decision Trees (GBDT), Gaussian Process Regression (GPR), Partial Least Squares Regression (PLSR), Random Forest (RF), and Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGB). Results showed that the fused feature set comprised four vegetation indices (GRDVI, RERVI, GRVI, NDVI) and five texture features (R_Corr, NIR_Mean, NIR_Vari, B_Mean, B_Corr), thereby retaining red-edge and visible-light texture information highly sensitive to AGB. The GPR model based on the fused features exhibited the best performance (test set R2 = 0.852, RMSE = 2890.74 kg ha−1, MAE = 1676.70 kg ha−1), demonstrating high fitting accuracy and stable predictive ability across both the training and test sets. Spatial inversions over the two growing seasons of 2024 and 2025, derived from the fused-feature GPR optimal model at four key phenological stages, revealed pronounced spatiotemporal heterogeneity and stage-dependent dynamics of spring maize AGB: the biomass accumulates rapidly from jointing to grain filling, slows thereafter, and peaks at maturity. At a constant planting density, AGB increased markedly with nitrogen inputs from N0 to N3 (420 kg N ha−1), with the high-nitrogen N3 treatment producing the greatest biomass; this successfully captured the regulatory effect of the nitrogen gradient on maize growth, provided reliable data for variable-rate fertilization, and is highly relevant for optimizing water–fertilizer coordination in subsurface drip irrigation systems. Future research may extend this integrated feature selection and modeling framework to monitor the growth and estimate the yield of other crops, such as rice and cotton, thereby validating its generalizability and robustness in diverse agricultural scenarios. Based on the monthly periodicity of cable temperature data, we preprocessed monitoring data from the KN1 and KN2 sections (medium-voltage power cable segments) of Guangzhou’s underground utility tunnel from 2023 to 2024, using the Isolation Forest algorithm to remove outliers, applying Min-Max normalization to eliminate dimensional differences, and selecting five key features including current load, voltage, and ambient temperature using Spearman’s correlation coefficient. Subsequently, we designed a multi-scale dilated causal convolutional module (DC-CNN) to capture local features, combined with a spatiotemporal dual-path Transformer to model long-range dependencies, and introduced relative position encoding to enhance temporal perception. The Sparrow Search Algorithm (SSA) was employed for global optimization of hyperparameters. Compared with five other mainstream algorithms, MSST-Net demonstrated higher accuracy in cable temperature prediction for power cables in the KN1 and KN2 sections of Guangzhou’s underground utility tunnel, achieving a coefficient of determination (R2), mean absolute error (MAE), and root mean square error (RMSE) of 0.942, 0.442 °C, and 0.596 °C, respectively. Compared to the basic Transformer model, the root mean square error of cable temperature was reduced by 0.425 °C. This model exhibits high accuracy in time series prediction and provides a reference for accurate short- and medium-term temperature forecasting of medium-voltage power cables in urban underground utility tunnels. Unsteady flow-induced pressure fluctuations and the consequent dynamic stresses in pump-turbines are critical determinants of their operational reliability and fatigue resistance. This investigation systematically examines the spatiotemporal propagation of Rotor–Stator Interaction (RSI)-induced pressure pulsations and evaluates the corresponding dynamic stress mechanisms based on a phase-resolved fluid–structure interaction strategy. The results reveal a significant hydrodynamic duality: RSI pressure waves manifest as convective traveling waves on the pressure side but as modal standing waves on the suction side. Crucially, a severe spanwise phase mismatch is identified between the hub and shroud streamlines, which induces a periodic hydrodynamic torsional moment on the blade. Due to the rigid constraint at the blade–crown junction, this torsional tendency is restricted, resulting in high-amplitude constrained tensile stresses at the root. This explains why the stress concentration at the crown inlet is significantly higher than in other regions. Additionally, the stress spectrum shows strong load dependence, characterized by low-frequency modulations on the suction side under high-load conditions. Full article

Multi-Robot Task Allocation (MRTA) with spatiotemporal constraints presents significant challenges in environmental adaptability. Existing learning-based methods often overlook environmental spatial constraints, leading to spatial information distortion. To address this, we formulate the problem as an asynchronous Markov Decision Process over a directed heterogeneous graph and propose a novel heterogeneous graph neural network named the Edge-Enhanced Attention Network (E2AN). This network integrates a specialized encoder, the Edge-Enhanced Heterogeneous Graph Attention Network (E2HGAT), with an attention-based decoder. By incorporating edge attributes to effectively characterize path costs under spatial constraints, E2HGAT corrects spatial distortion. Furthermore, our approach supports flexible extension to diverse payload scenarios via node attribute adaptation. Extensive experiments conducted in simulated environments with obstructed maps demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms baseline algorithms in task success rate. Remarkably, the model maintains its advantages in generalization tests on unseen maps as well as in scalability tests across varying problem sizes. Ablation studies further validate the critical role of the proposed encoder in capturing spatiotemporal dependencies. Additionally, real-time performance analysis confirms the method’s feasibility for online deployment. Overall, this study offers an effective solution for MRTA problems with complex constraints. Blueberries (Vaccinium spp.) are highly sensitive to winter chilling fulfillment, growing degree days above 7 °C (GDD7), and water balance (WB). By integrating a climate-based natural suitability index (CNSI), three-dimensional kernel density estimation, traditional and spatial Markov chains, and optimal geographic detector analysis, this study examines the spatiotemporal evolution and driving mechanisms of blueberry climatic suitability realization in 19 major producing provinces in China during 2008–2023. Results show that CNSI exhibits a stable and moderately right-skewed distribution, with partial convergence and a narrowing interprovincial gap. Suitability realization is highest in the middle and lower Yangtze River rice-growing belt, whereas the northern dryland belt and the southern subtropical mountainous belt show persistent mismatches between climatic potential and production advantages. Markov results reveal path dependence and moderate mobility, with “low–low lock-in” and “high–high club” phenomena reinforced under neighborhood effects. GeoDetector results indicate that effective facility irrigation and fertilizer input are dominant factors explaining spatial variation in CNSI, while comprehensive transportation accessibility and agricultural labor act as stable complements. Interaction analysis suggests that multi-factor synergies, particularly irrigation-centered combinations, yield strong dual-factor enhancement and near-nonlinear enhancement. These findings highlight the importance of aligning climatic suitability with adaptive infrastructure investment and region-specific management to promote sustainable production-share advantages in China’s blueberry industry. In this paper, a two-phase spatio-temporal point process (STPP) defined on a countable metric space and characterized by a conditional intensity function is introduced. In the first phase, the process is memoryless, generating completely random point patterns. In the second phase, the location and occurrence time of each event depend on the spatial configuration of previous events, thereby inducing spatio-temporal correlation. Theoretical results that characterize the distributional properties of the process are established, enabling both efficient numerical simulation and Bayesian inference. A statistical inference framework is developed, for the setting in which the STPP is observed at discrete calendar dates while the spatial locations of events are recorded, their exact occurrence times are unobserved, i.e., interval-censored. This partial observation scheme commonly arises in ecological and epidemiological applications, such as the monitoring of plant disease or insect pest spread across a spatial grid over time. The methodology is illustrated through an analysis of the spatio-temporal spread of sugarcane yellow leaf virus (SCYLV) in an initially disease-free sugarcane plot in Guadeloupe, FrenchWest Indies.
