Urban wetlands are increasingly recognized for their ecological and cultural benefits, yet remain underutilized due to limited public awareness and environmental literacy. This study investigates how visitors’ perceptions of wetland ecosystem services influence their motivations to engage with a constructed wetland in Putrajaya, Malaysia. By integrating the ecosystem services framework with push-pull motivation theory, the research aims to bridge knowledge gaps and inform sustainable wetland tourism planning. A structured questionnaire was administered to 420 visitors, with 385 valid responses (response rate: 91.7%). Data were analyzed using non-parametric tests (Kruskal–Wallis, Spearman correlation) and multiple regression analysis. Results show that cultural and regulating services are perceived most positively, while emotional restoration and aesthetic appreciation emerged as key motivational drivers. Regression findings reveal that push factors are stronger predictors of ecosystem service engagement than pull factors. These insights highlight the importance of emotional and psychological connections to nature, offering practical implications for urban wetland management, visitor education and environmental communication strategies. The integration of urban bus and subway services is critical for attracting passengers and for the sustainable development of public transit, as it helps to boost ridership with an extensive service that combines the attractions of buses and subways. To identify barriers in transferring from bus to subway or vice versa at different periods of the day, this research develops the popular evaluation indices found in the literature and revises them to reflect the most critical attributes of transfer quality. Thus, the deficiencies of transferring from subway to bus or vice versa are independently examined. Motivated by the changes in the indices at different periods, the day is divided into multiple periods. Then, dynamic transfer-volume-based TOPSIS is developed, instead of assigning index weights based on period sequence. The index weight is revised to emphasize the peak periods. Taking a case study in Suzhou, the barriers to inter-modal transfer are identified between subways and buses. It is found that subway-to-bus transfer quality is only one-third of that of bus-to-subway transfers due to the great changes in bus runs (19–45 vs. 14–26), lower bus coverage rates (0.42–0.47 vs. 0.50–0.55), and larger deviation of connected POIs (9.0–9.4 vs. 1.1–1.8), as well as the lower reliability of connected bus lines (0.3–0.47 beyond peaks vs. 0.58 and 0.96). Multi-faceted implementations are recommended for inter-modal subway-to-bus transfers and bus-to-subway transfers, respectively. The research provides insights on enhancing bus–subway transfer quality with finer detail into different periods, to encourage the loyalty of transit passengers with more stable and reliable bus as well as transit service. Enhancing innovation capability can effectively promote the development of traditional industries. Based on Lewin’s behavioral model theory, this study investigated the relationship between industrial support policies and innovation behavior within traditional industries. Utilizing survey data collected from 152 traditional industrial enterprises in 2024 and employing structural equation modeling, the main findings are as follows: Industrial support policies can effectively alleviate the “innovation inertia” of traditional industries, with all policies being significant at the 1% confidence level. Among them, policies related to industry–university–research cooperation platforms have the most significant impact, with a standardized coefficient of 0.941, followed by fiscal and taxation policies (standardized coefficient: 0.846) and financial policies (standardized coefficient: 0.729). Innovation motivation acts as a mediating mechanism between industrial policies and innovation behavior. Industrial support policies accelerate the conversion of reserve-oriented patent portfolios into practical applications, helping to break through patent barriers and effectively alleviate innovation inertia. Consequently, the government should prioritize improving public services, and policy formulation needs to be oriented towards enhancing innovation efficiency. While ensuring industrial security, it is advisable to moderately increase competition to guide traditional industry market players towards thriving in competitive environments. Full article

The global shift toward sustainable transportation has gained increasing interest, promoting the use of electric vehicles (EVs) as an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional vehicles as a result of a complex interaction between economic incentives, social dynamics, and environmental imperatives. This study is based on the Extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2) to understand the key factors influencing consumers’ intentions in the Sultanate of Oman toward adopting electric vehicles. It is based on a mixed methodology combining quantitative data from a questionnaire of 448 participants, analyzed using ordinal logistic regression, with qualitative thematic analysis of in-depth interviews with 18 EV owners. Its results reveal that performance expectations, trust in EV technology, and social influence are the strongest predictors of EV adoption intentions in Oman. These findings suggest that some issues related to charging infrastructure, access to maintenance services, and cost-benefit ratio are key considerations that influence consumers’ intention to accept and use EVs. Conversely, recreational motivation is not a statistically significant factor, which suggests that consumers focus on practical and economic motivations when deciding to adopt EVs rather than on their enjoyment of driving the vehicle. The findings of this study provide valuable insights for decision-makers and practitioners to understand public perceptions of electric vehicles, enabling them to design effective strategies to promote the adoption of these vehicles in the emerging sustainable transportation market of the future. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into educational environments is fundamentally transforming the learning process, raising new questions regarding student engagement and motivation. This empirical study investigates the relationship between AI-based learning support and the experience of flow, defined as the optimal state of deep attention and intrinsic motivation, among university students. Building on Csíkszentmihályi’s flow theory and current models of technology-enhanced learning, we applied a validated, purposefully developed AI questionnaire (AIFLQ) to 142 students from two Hungarian universities: the Ludovika University of Public Service and Eszterházy Károly Catholic University. The participants used generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT 4, SUNO) during their academic tasks. Based on the results of the Mann–Whitney U test, significant differences were found between students from the two universities in the immersion and balance factors, as well as in the overall flow score, while the AI-related factor showed no statistically significant differences. The sustainability of the flow experience appears to be linked more to pedagogical methodological factors than to institutional ones, highlighting the importance of instructional support in fostering optimal learning experiences. Demographic variables also influenced the flow experience. In gender comparisons, female students showed significantly higher values for the immersion factor. According to the Kruskal–Wallis test, educational attainment also affected the flow experience, with students holding higher education degrees achieving higher flow scores. Our findings suggest that through the conscious design of AI tools and learning environments, taking into account instructional support and learner characteristics, it is possible to promote the development of optimal learning states. This research provides empirical evidence at the intersection of AI and motivational psychology, contributing to both domestic and international discourse in educational psychology and digital pedagogy. Police officers work in high-stress environments that demand emotional resilience, interpersonal skills, and effective communication. Occupational stress can negatively impact their motivation, conflict resolution abilities, and professional effectiveness. Loving-Kindness Meditation (LKM), a mindfulness-based intervention focused on cultivating compassion and empathy, has shown promise in enhancing prosocial attitudes and emotional regulation. With the rise of short video platforms, digital interventions like video-guided LKM may offer accessible mental health support for law enforcement. This study examines the effects of short video app-guided LKM on police officers’ mindfulness, public service motivation (PSM), conflict resolution skills (CRSs), and communication skills (CSSs). It aims to determine whether LKM can enhance these psychological and professional competencies. A randomized controlled trial (RCT) was conducted with 110 active-duty police officers from a metropolitan police department in China, with 92 completing the study. Participants were randomly assigned to either the LKM group (n = 46) or the waitlist control group (n = 46). The intervention consisted of a 6-week short video app-guided LKM program with daily 10 min meditation sessions. Pre- and post-intervention assessments were conducted using several validated scales: the Mindfulness Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS), the Public Service Motivation Scale (PSM), the Conflict Resolution Styles Inventory (CRSI), and the Communication Competence Scale (CCS). A 2 (Group: LKM vs. Control) × 2 (Time: Pre vs. Post) mixed-design MANOVA was conducted to analyze the effects. Statistical analyses revealed significant group-by-time interaction effects for PSM (F(4,177) = 21.793, p < 0.001, η2 = 0.108), CRS (F(4,177) = 20.920, p < 0.001, η2 = 0.104), and CSS (F(4,177) = 49.095, p < 0.001, η2 = 0.214), indicating improvements in these areas for LKM participants. However, no significant improvement was observed for mindfulness (F(4,177) = 2.850, p = 0.930, η2 = 0.016). Short video app-guided LKM improves public service motivation, conflict resolution skills, and communication skills among police officers but does not significantly enhance mindfulness. These findings suggest that brief, digitally delivered compassion-focused programs can be seamlessly incorporated into routine in-service training to strengthen officers’ prosocial motivation, de-escalation competence, and public-facing communication, thereby fostering more constructive police–community interactions. Environmental pollution has become a significant issue, and environmental protection within the realm of sports has garnered increasing attention from various sectors of the academic community. This study takes the public’s intention to purchase sports stadiums as the research object, introduces two mediating variables of green value perception and sense of accomplishment, builds a hypothetical model from the perspective of motivation protection theory, and explores the influence of perceived functional risk of green sports stadiums on consumption intention through SEM analysis based on the samples of the recovered questionnaires (N = 1073). The results are as follows: first, there is a negative influence between perceived functional risk and green sports stadium consumption intention, and the lower the perceived functional risk of green sports stadiums, the more consumers can promote their choice of green sports stadiums when they consume in stadiums; second, green value perception plays a mediating role in the relationship between perceived functional risk and green sports stadium services consumption intention; third, a sense of accomplishment plays a mediating role in the relationship between perceived functional risk and willingness to consume green sports stadium; fourth, green value perception and a sense of accomplishment play a chain mediating role between perceived functional risk and willingness to consume in the context of green sports stadiums. This study aims to contribute to the popularization and development of green sports stadiums in China and to provide green sports stadium builders and managers with more targeted and effective marketing strategies. Background/Objectives:Breast and cervical cancer screening programs are essential for early detection and timely treatment, yet participation rates remain suboptimal. Within a patient-centered care approach, engagement is increasingly viewed as a dynamic and emotionally grounded process. The literature conceptualizes three phases of engagement in healthcare decision-making: ‘recruit’, ‘retain’, and ‘sustain’. When these phases intersect with the structured pathway of cancer screening, they generate specific meaning-making challenges that shape how women relate to prevention and care. This study adopts the lens of Iterative Situated Engagement (ISE) to explore how women experience and negotiate these challenges, differentiating them across the three engagement phases. Methods: A theory-driven qualitative design was adopted. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 40 women aged 25–69 years participating in public breast and cervical cancer screening programs. Thematic analysis was conducted using the Framework Method. Results: In the ‘recruit’ phase, engagement was driven by Cancer Risk Monitoring, Self-care Motivation, Fear of Death Management, and Coincidence. The ‘retain’ phase emphasized Trust in Healthcare Providers, Accessibility of Services, Recurrent Invitations, and Informal Result Previews. About the ‘sustain’ phase, Continuity of Healthcare Providers, Driving Best Practices Dissemination, Flexible Organization of Healthcare Services, and Shorter Waiting Times for Results were highlighted as key factors in maintaining engagement over time. Conclusions: Women’s engagement in cancer screening emerges as a dynamic, multi-phase process shaped by psychological, emotional, and organizational levels. These findings contribute to the development of the ISE conceptual proposal, which frames participation as an iterative, situated, and meaning-making trajectory. Strengthening personalized health communication and improving the coordination of primary care services could enhance sustained participation in screening programs, supporting strategies to reduce health disparities and promote preventive practices. Agriculture and silviculture offer interesting opportunities for food, energy, and construction sectors, but to transform such raw materials into valuable products, multiple engineering works must be carried out within R&D, innovation projects, and programs. The classical official decision to promote or supervise such projects involves many agents and criteria but rarely considers engineering quality, reusability, or other valuable and measurable attributes considered in ISO 25.000 or in value engineering guidelines. Missing them would increase technological, business, and programmatic risks, potentially wasting public money or credibility. Large projects are not free from these risks, and it is not a kind of madness to derive R&D and innovation funds to enable access to such valuable knowledge comprehensively, with models. In this context, communications and services, construction, and renewables play a crucial role in smart rural environments. Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), combined with Natural Language Processing (NLP), are expected to help Knowledge Management (KM) in engineering and governance to supervise value engineering and their relationship with other metrics. Starting with a motivational and multidisciplinary framework for a smart rural transformation for System of Systems (SoS), the authors conduct specific bibliographic research on MBSE-NLP-AI use for automatizing systems engineering supervision at program governance levels. Progressive advancements in the global economy and technology have propelled human civilization forward; however, they have also inflicted significant harm on the global ecological environment. In the present era, electric vehicle (EV) technology is playing a vital role due to its environmentally friendly technological advances. However, widespread adoption of EVs has been hindered by their limited travel range, inadequate charging infrastructure, and high costs. This can be closely observed when we assess the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) among motorcycle taxi drivers, commonly called ‘pilots,’ in Goa, India. Motorcycle taxis are crucial in Goa’s transportation network, providing affordable, efficient, and door-to-door services, especially in regions with limited public transport options. However, the rising costs of petrol and vehicle maintenance have adversely affected the income of these pilots, prompting concerns about their willingness to adopt EVs. This study aims to analyze the factors prompting the behavioral intention to adopt EVs by motorcycle taxi pilots in Goa, India, focusing on six key determinants: charging infrastructure, effort expectancy, performance expectancy, price value, social influence, and satisfaction with incentive policies. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing stratified proportionate random sampling techniques to collect data from 242 motorcycle taxi pilots registered with the Goa State Government Transport Department. It was analyzed using partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) through Smart-PLS 4.0 software. The research highlights that performance expectancy and price value are the potential motivators for the adoption of electric vehicles. These findings suggest that pilots are more likely to embrace EVs when they perceive tangible benefits in performance and find the cost reasonable in relation to the value offered. The results offer actionable insights for policymakers, manufacturers, and other stakeholders. These insights can guide strategic decisions and policy frameworks aimed at fostering a sustainable and user-centric transportation ecosystem. Full article

With the advancement of behavioral public administration, the methodological innovation it introduces offers robust support for investigating the relationship between accountability and individuals’ behavior in the public sector. This paper investigates the link between individuals’ felt accountability and job burnout within China’s industrial production context. We develop and validate a novel theoretical model grounded in cognitive stress theory using survey data collected from public sector safety supervision regulators. The results indicate that the regulators’ felt accountability significantly impacts their job burnout, while threat appraisal played a mediating role in this relationship. Public service motivation negatively moderates the effect, with a more substantial effect observed at higher levels of motivation. This paper contributes to the development of felt accountability theory and promotes interdisciplinary dialogue. Full article

Background: Maternal vaccination is a critical primary preventive approach and an integral part of life-course immunization strategy, influencing the infection-associated morbidity and mortality in pregnant women, foetuses, and young infants. Despite clear guidelines for the administration of vaccines against tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap), influenza, and COVID-19 during pregnancy, maternal vaccination rates remain suboptimal in Ireland as per the National Immunisation Office of the Health Service Executive (HSE). Aim: This review explores the prevailing status, uptake factors, and maternal immunization-specific vaccine hesitancy in Ireland. Method: A scoping review was conducted, searching nine electronic databases, including the Irish health research repository Lenus. The search strategy utilised a Population–Concept–Context framework (pregnant women—vaccine uptake/hesitancy—Ireland). Key factors identified and categorised according to the 5A framework: access, affordability, awareness, acceptance, and activation. Results: Searches yielded 2457 articles, and 12 eligible studies were included for review. Influencing factors were identified in each of the 5A dimensions, with the majority relating to acceptance and awareness. Positively associated factors included healthcare provider (HCP) recommendation and knowledge of vaccine safety. Potential antenatal barriers were maternal lack of knowledge of vaccine-preventable illness severity, infection risks, and vaccine safety concerns. A pregnant woman’s primary motivation for antenatal immunization was protection of her infant; however, the reluctance of HCPs to prescribe all recommended antenatal vaccines, inadequate immunization-specific discussion during antenatal consultations, and suboptimal knowledge of pregnancy-specific vaccine safety hampered potential positive influences. The Irish national immunization policy was a facilitator of affordability. Activation can be achieved through public health awareness campaigns and interdisciplinary promotion of maternal vaccination uptake. Conclusions: Maternal vaccination uptake in Ireland remains suboptimal, and a coordinated, targeted approach updating HCP recommendations, enhancing maternal awareness, and highlighting vaccine safety in pregnancy would be required to meet the life-course immunization goals recommended by WHO. By adopting a life-course immunization approach for healthy living, with maternal vaccination as the pivotal central point, vaccination programmes could close immunity gaps at various life stages. The adoption of e-government in public sector entities is essential due to the trend of digitizing government services. Thailand has implemented a variety of e-government policy frameworks with the goal of improving citizen public service delivery, private sector benefits, and the public sector performance. This study examines the key elements influencing e-government adoption in Thai public sector organizations from citizens’ perspectives. This study employed a quantitative research design, collecting data from 450 Thai citizens, who have utilized or experienced e-government services, using a questionnaire. The data were examined using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. This study’s findings from citizens’ viewpoints highlighted three important elements influencing e-government adoption in Thai public sector organizations: reliability, technology, and motivation. All characteristics have a favorable correlation with e-government adoption; however, the influence varies. The examination of these relationships enabled us to make suggestions on e-government adoption to the policymakers and public sector organizations. Theoretical and practical implications were addressed. The findings have practical consequences, since they provide Thai public sector organizations with a better understanding of the primary problems identified as potential barriers to e-government deployment. Furthermore, adopting e-government services not only benefits citizens, but also promotes communication between government agencies and the private sector. Full article

Public service motivation (PSM) plays a critical role in shaping the job performance of college counselors, whose responsibilities encompass both ideological-political education and student affairs management within Chinese higher education institutions. This study employs a large-scale survey and empirical analysis to explore the mechanisms linking PSM and job performance, focusing specifically on the mediating role of work engagement and the moderating effect of transformational leadership. A total of 550 college counselors from a diverse set of higher education institutions across China participated in the survey. The findings reveal that PSM significantly enhances job performance, with work engagement serving as a partial mediator in this relationship. Furthermore, transformational leadership positively moderates the influence of PSM and work engagement, thereby amplifying its indirect effect on job performance. These results contribute to the broader discourse on higher education management and offer practical insights for student affairs administrators aiming to optimize counselor performance and enhance institutional governance. Workplace procrastination is widespread in the public sector and has severe negative implications. However, research specifically focusing on workplace procrastination among civil servants remains scarce. Drawing on the person–environment (P–E) fit theory and the public service motivation (PSM) fit perspective, this study examines the relationship between perceived overqualification (POQ) and workplace procrastination through job boredom, and further explores how PSM and perceived prosocial impact moderate this relationship. Based on a survey of 363 Chinese civil servants, the findings reveal a positive correlation between POQ and workplace procrastination through job boredom, and this correlation is weaker for civil servants with high PSM than for those with low PSM. A three-way interaction analysis indicates that perceived prosocial impact enhances the ability of PSM to reduce job boredom caused by POQ, which in turn weakens the association between POQ and workplace procrastination. Moreover, when civil servants with high PSM perceive their work as having a high prosocial impact, the association between POQ and workplace procrastination becomes nonsignificant. This study introduces a person–environment interaction perspective for understanding the antecedents of workplace procrastination, underscores the costs of POQ in public organizations, and offers valuable insights for preventing workplace procrastination among civil servants.
