With the increase in the global aging population, the demand for elderly-friendly game products is growing rapidly. To address existing limitations, particularly in user demand extraction and design parameter setting, this study proposed a design framework integrating the BTM–AHP–AD–TOPSIS methods. The goal was to accurately identify the core needs of elderly users and translate them into effective design solutions. User reviews of elderly-friendly game products were collected from e-commerce platforms using Python 3.8-based web scraping. The Biterm Topic Model (BTM) was employed to extract user needs from review texts. These needs were prioritized using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and translated into specific design parameters through Axiomatic Design (AD). Finally, the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) was applied to comprehensively evaluate multiple design schemes and select the optimal solution. The results demonstrate that the proposed design path offers a holistic method for progressing from need extraction to design evaluation. It effectively overcomes previous limitations, including inefficient need extraction, limited scope, unclear need weighting, and unreasonable design parameters. This method enhances user acceptance and satisfaction while establishing rigorous design processes and scientific evaluation standards, making it well suited for developing elderly-friendly products. Background: Employee turnover poses a multi-faceted challenge to organizations by undermining productivity, morale, and financial stability while rendering recruitment, onboarding, and training investments wasteful. Traditional machine learning approaches often struggle with class imbalance and lack transparency, limiting actionable insights. This study introduces an Explainable AI (XAI) framework to achieve both high predictive accuracy and interpretability in turnover forecasting. Methods: Two publicly available HR datasets (IBM HR Analytics, Kaggle HR Analytics) were preprocessed with label encoding and MinMax scaling. Class imbalance was addressed via GAN-based synthetic data generation. A three-layer Transformer encoder performed binary classification, and SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) analysis provided both global and local feature attributions. Model performance was evaluated using accuracy, precision, recall, F1 score, and ROC AUC metrics. Results: On the IBM dataset, the Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) Transformer model achieved 92.00% accuracy, 96.67% precision, 87.00% recall, 91.58% F1, and 96.32% ROC AUC. On the Kaggle dataset, it reached 96.95% accuracy, 97.28% precision, 96.60% recall, 96.94% F1, and 99.15% ROC AUC, substantially outperforming classical resampling methods (ROS, SMOTE, ADASYN) and recent literature benchmarks. SHAP explanations highlighted JobSatisfaction, Age, and YearsWithCurrManager as top predictors in IBM and number project, satisfaction level, and time spend company in Kaggle. Conclusion: The proposed GAN Transformer SHAP pipeline delivers state-of-the-art turnover prediction while furnishing transparent, actionable insights for HR decision-makers. Future work should validate generalizability across diverse industries and develop lightweight, real-time implementations. Full article

Job satisfaction in sub-Saharan Africa is crucial as it directly impacts employee productivity, retention, and overall economic growth, fostering a motivated workforce that drives regional development. In sub–Saharan Africa, poor remuneration, limited professional development opportunities, and inadequate working conditions impact satisfaction. This study examined job-satisfaction predictors among health workers in primary healthcare settings across eight countries: Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Senegal, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. A cross-sectional study surveyed 1711 health workers, assessing five dimensions: employer–2employee relationships, remuneration and recognition, professional development, physical work environment, and supportive supervision. The study was conducted from October 2023 to March 2024. The job-satisfaction assessment tool was adopted from a validated tool originally developed for use in low-income healthcare settings. The tool was reviewed by staff from all the country offices to ensure contextual relevance and organization alignment. The responses were measured on a five-point Likert scale: 0: Not applicable, 1: Very dissatisfied, 2: Dissatisfied, 3: Neutral, 4: Satisfied, and 5: Very satisfied. The analysis employed descriptive and multivariable regression methods. Job satisfaction varied significantly by country. Satisfaction with the employer–employee relationship was highest in Zambia (80%) and lowest in Tanzania (16%). Remuneration satisfaction was highest in Senegal (63%) and Zambia (49%), while it was very low in Malawi (9.8%) and Ethiopia (2.3%). Overall, 44% of respondents were satisfied with their professional development, with Uganda leading (62%) and Ethiopia having the lowest satisfaction level (29%). Satisfaction with the physical environment was at 27%, with Uganda at 40% and Kenya at 12%. Satisfaction with supervisory support stood at 62%, with Zambia at 73% and Ethiopia at 30%. Key predictors of job satisfaction included a strong employer–employee relationships (OR = 2.20, p < 0.001), fair remuneration (OR = 1.59, p = 0.002), conducive work environments (OR = 1.71, p < 0.001), and supervisory support (OR = 3.58, p < 0.001. Improving the job satisfaction, retention, and performance of health workers in sub-Saharan Africa requires targeted interventions in employer–employee relationships, fair compensation, supportive supervision, and working conditions. Strategies must be tailored to each country’s unique challenges, as one-size-fits-all solutions may not be effective. Policymakers should prioritize these factors to build a motivated, resilient workforce, with ongoing research and monitoring essential to ensure sustained progress and improved healthcare delivery. Background: Bariatric surgeries, specifically laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (SG) and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB), are a common intervention for morbid obesity, significantly affecting food tolerance and quality of eating. Understanding these changes is crucial for improving postoperative care and long-term success. Methods: This observational study at University Hospital Mannheim involved 91 patients, aged between 18 and 65 year, who underwent SG or RYGB between 2009 and 2019. Food tolerance was assessed between 25 days and 117 months after surgery using the validated score by Suter et al. (Food Tolerance Score, FTS) and an additional score evaluating tolerance to specific food groups and quality of life. Data on body composition were collected through Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) at follow-up visits. Statistical analyses included linear mixed models to analyze the association of food tolerance with body composition changes. Results: The FTS indicated moderate or poor food tolerance in 62.6% of patients, with no significant differences between SG and RYGB. Considering the results of the additional score, food groups such as red meat, wheat products, raw vegetables, carbon dioxide, fatty foods, convenience food, and sweets were the most poorly tolerated food groups. A total of 57 of the participants had a baseline and follow-up BIA measurement. Postoperatively, a significant reduction in body weight and BMI as well as in BIA parameters (fat mass, lean mass, body cell mass, and phase angle) was found. Quality of life improved after bariatric surgery and 76.9% rated their nutritional status as good or excellent, despite possible food intolerances. Conclusions: Bariatric surgery significantly reduces weight and alters food tolerance. Despite moderate or poor food tolerance, patients reported high satisfaction with their nutritional status and quality of life. Detailed food tolerance assessments and personalized dietary follow-ups are essential for the early detection and management of postoperative malnutrition, ensuring sustained weight loss and improved health outcomes. Objectives: This study evaluates the economic impact of digital health interventions (DHIs) developed under the HosmartAI EU-funded program, focusing on obstetrics, cardiology, and gastroenterology. Methods: A Cost Consequence Analysis (CCA) was chosen in order to be able to examine the costs and consequences of AI technologies in early diagnosis of preterm births, echocardiography, coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA), and capsule endoscopy (CE). Results: The results show that in obstetrics and CCTA, the AI technologies are cost-saving, with the AI-based preterm birth detection leading to savings of 99,840 EUR due to reduced severity of prematurity. In the echocardiography scenario, the new AI technology slightly increased costs (9409 vs. 2116 EUR), but offered benefits in diagnostic accuracy and shorter interpretation duration, particularly for less experienced physicians. Similarly, the capsule endoscopy AI technology raised annual costs by 6626 EUR but improved productivity, accuracy, and user satisfaction. Conclusions: The findings emphasize the need for standardized frameworks to guide economic evaluations of DHIs, ensuring informed healthcare investment and reimbursement decisions in the future. This study presents an analysis of England’s 2023 national assessment of assistive technology (AT) access and use, with a particular focus on the qualitative impact of AT as described by users. It aims to address limitations in conventional AT impact assessments, which often prioritize clinical outcomes or user satisfaction, by offering a deeper account of how impact is experienced in everyday life. Drawing on data from a nationally representative survey of 7000 disabled adults and children, as well as six focus group discussions and 28 semi-structured interviews with stakeholders across the WHO 5Ps framework (People, Providers, Personnel, Policy, and Products), the study applies Amartya Sen and Martha Nussbaum’s Capability Approach to explore these experiences. Using inductive thematic analysis, we identify three main domains of user-reported impact: Functions and Activities (e.g., mobility, communication, vision, leisure, daily routines, and cognitive support), Outcomes (e.g., autonomy, quality of life, safety, social participation, wellbeing, and work and learning), and Lived Experience (e.g., access barriers, essentiality, identity and emotional connection, peace of mind, and sense of control and confidence). These findings offer a more user-centered understanding of AT impact and can inform the development of future measurement tools, research design, and government-led interventions to improve AT provision. Objectives: This systematic review aimed to evaluate the cost, production time, clinical performance, and patient satisfaction of 3D printing workflows in prosthodontics compared to conventional and subtractive methods. Methods: Following PRISMA guidelines, a systematic search of electronic databases was performed to identify studies published between 2015 and 2025 that directly compared digital additive workflows with analogue or subtractive workflows. Studies were eligible if they included prosthodontic treatments such as dentures, crowns, or implant-supported prostheses and reported at least one relevant outcome. The primary outcomes were cost, time efficiency, clinical accuracy (e.g., marginal adaptation, fit), and patient satisfaction. Included studies were methodologically evaluated using MINORS scale and the risk of bias was assessed using ROBINS-I and RoB 2 tools. Results: Seven studies met the inclusion criteria. Overall, 3D printing workflows demonstrated reduced production time and cost in comparison to conventional or subtractive methods. Clinical outcomes were generally comparable or superior, particularly regarding adaptation and fit. Patient satisfaction was favourable in most studies, although reporting varied. Long-term follow-up was limited, which constrains the interpretation of sustained clinical performance. Conclusions: These findings suggest that 3D printing can serve as an efficient and cost-effective alternative in prosthodontic fabrication, with clinical results comparable to those already established. Further research is needed to assess long-term clinical performance and cost-effectiveness in various clinical scenarios. Full article

Purpose—This research paper examines the critical factors in customer satisfaction while purchasing fruits and vegetables at farmers’ markets. Design/methodology/approach—This study was conducted using a prepared questionnaire to collect data on a random sample of 235 customers of farmers’ markets in the state of Maharashtra, India. The research was carried out in the year 2023. Seven hypotheses were tested concerning the relationships between the variables of interest. The variables of convenience, variety, quality, price, health and hygiene, and service conditions were used as independent constructs and were proxied by reflective indicators. Customer satisfaction and customer loyalty were treated as an exogenous variable and an endogenous variable, respectively. Structural equation modeling was used to investigate the model relationships and confirm the theoretical model. Findings—The findings validate all the reflective indicators used in the study. The latent variables of convenience, variety, quality, price, health and hygiene, and service conditions positively and significantly affect customer satisfaction, and customer satisfaction positively and significantly affects customer loyalty toward farmers’ markets. The structural equation explains approximately 55% of the variation in customer satisfaction related to convenience, variety, price, quality, health and hygiene, and service conditions. Significance—The study results provide insights into the factors that influence consumer behavior and attitudes toward farmers’ markets. By identifying these predictors, this study can help farmers’ markets and other stakeholders develop effective marketing strategies to attract and retain customers, ultimately promoting sustainable food production and consumption. Additionally, the results can inform policymakers on how to support and promote farmers’ markets as healthy and sustainable food sources. Practical implication—By implementing the practical suggestions derived from the implications of this research, farmers’ markets can optimize customer satisfaction, boost customer loyalty, and reinforce their position as valuable contributors to local communities’ well-being and sustainability. Originality/value—The acceptance of farmers’ markets in India as an alternative shopping destination for fruits and vegetables is gradually increasing. This exploratory study conducted on farmers’ markets examined several factors, including price, in assessing customer satisfaction and farmers’ markets’ effectiveness at positioning themselves as shopping destinations for consumers in India. This study investigates the influences of the packaging design of not from concentrate (NFC) orange juice on consumer sensory preferences and purchase intention. We conducted a laboratory experiment with eighty-one individuals, combining physiological measurements (eye-tracking to assess attention levels) and sensory evaluation (tasting and rating their overall satisfaction with the taste). Participants evaluated different bottles featuring three design elements (transparency, color, label) but with the same juice inside. In line with the literature on the design of packaging, we show that the position of the transparency, color, and text label consistently alters consumer attention levels and sensory preferences for NFC orange juice. We believe that such findings may guide brand managers and product designers to create more appealing beverage packaging to optimize potential market success. Full article

In an increasingly digitalized marketplace, understanding Generation Z’s (Gen Z) online consumer behavior has become a critical priority, particularly in relation to newly launched technological products. Although online consumer behavior has been widely studied, a gap remains in understanding how the location of the e-shop (domestic vs. international) moderates this behavior. Addressing this gap, the present study adopts a quantitative, cross-sectional design with data from 302 Gen Z participants, using a hybrid sampling method that combines convenience and systematic techniques. A structured questionnaire, grounded in 19 well-established behavioral theories, was employed to examine the influence of six key factors, behavioral and attitudinal traits, social and peer influences, marketing impact, online experience, brand perceptions, and Gen Z characteristics, across various stages of the consumer journey. Moderation analysis revealed that e-shop location significantly affects the strength of relationships between these factors and both purchase intention and post-purchase behavior. Notably, Gen Z’s values and marketing responsiveness were found to be more predictive in the context of international e-shops. These findings highlight the importance of marketing strategies that are both locally relevant and globally informed. For businesses, this research offers actionable insights into how digital engagement and brand messaging can be tailored to meet the unique expectations of Gen Z consumers across diverse e-commerce contexts, thereby enhancing consumer satisfaction, loyalty, and brand advocacy. The circular economy (CE) is increasingly important in ensuring sustainable development. Although interactions among stakeholders are essential to achieving the CE, existing methods associated with life cycle design do not fully consider the synergies between multiple product life cycles (PLCs). Therefore, this paper proposes a platform-aggregated life cycle ecosystem (PF-LCE). The PF-LCE consists of multiple PLCs along with a platform that enables the exchange of goods and data among different PLCs. We also propose a method for supporting the conceptual design of the PF-LCE. Our method includes a four-step process to help exploit the interactions and synergistic effects occurring across PLCs at the design stage. We then use a simulated case study of PLCs sharing goods and data in the shoe industry, considering scenarios ranging from business-as-usual to full integration of the platform with four service providers. The results demonstrate that the designed PF-LCE delivers an increase in profits to service providers alongside reduced costs for consumers. CO2 emissions also decrease. Therefore, the design method that we propose has the potential to enhance current implementations of the CE in terms of business revenues, consumer satisfaction, and environmental sustainability. This study investigates the relationship between architectural attributes of workspaces and employee satisfaction, situating its inquiry within the broader context of post-pandemic hybrid work models and the evolving understanding of territoriality in organizational environments. Drawing on the social production of space and the multidimensional framework of Quality of Work Life (QWL), this research employs a quantitative, questionnaire-based methodology across three diverse corporate settings in Belgrade, Serbia. A total of 124 participants took part in the survey, representing the logistics (Fercam), IT (UBConnect), and healthcare (Medigroup) sectors. The survey integrates validated instruments—the Workspace Characteristics Scale (WCS) and the Workspace Satisfaction Scale (WSS)—to assess the impact of 12 variables and spatial features, reflecting functional, sensory, and sociological dimensions. Multiple regression analyses reveal that aesthetics, flexibility, and a sense of belonging consistently emerge as significant predictors of workspace satisfaction, with sector-specific variations observed across the cases. Notably, the findings underscore the importance of aligning spatial design with organizational values and user expectations while also highlighting the nuanced roles of sociological and psychological dimensions. The results offer practical relevance for architects and interior designers, providing insights into how design strategies tailored to user needs and sector-specific cultures can foster more effective workplace environments. This study concludes that evidence-based, multidimensional design strategies are essential for fostering well-being and productivity in contemporary work environments, demonstrating the value of aligning design with user expectations to enhance organizational outcomes. It recommends further research into the interplay between flexibility and belonging as determinants of workplace satisfaction. Full article

The swift evolution of information technology and growing connectivity in critical applications have elevated cybersecurity, protecting and certifying software and designs against rising cyber threats. For example, software and hardware have become highly susceptible to various threats, like reverse engineering, cloning, tampering, and IP piracy. While various techniques exist to enhance software and hardware security, including encryption, native code, and secure server-side execution, obfuscation emerges as a preeminent and cost-efficient solution to address these challenges. Obfuscation purposely converts software and hardware to improve complexity for probable adversaries, targeting obscure realization operations while preserving safety and functionality. Former research has commonly engaged features of obfuscation, deobfuscation, and obfuscation detection approaches. A novel departure from conventional research methodologies, this revolutionary comprehensive article reviews these approaches in depth. It explicates the correlations and dynamics among them. Furthermore, it conducts a meticulous comparative analysis, evaluating obfuscation techniques across parameters such as the methodology, testing procedures, efficacy, associated drawbacks, market applicability, and prospects for future enhancement. This review aims to assist organizations in wisely electing obfuscation techniques for firm protection against threats and enhances the strategic choice of deobfuscation and obfuscation detection techniques to recognize vulnerabilities in software and hardware products. This empowerment permits organizations to proficiently treat security risks, guaranteeing secure software and hardware solutions, and improving user satisfaction for maximized profitability. Sustainable development requires manufacturers to deliver products that are not only of good quality but also environmentally friendly. The materials used play a crucial role in product manufacturing. They not only directly determine quality but also influence the environment throughout the product’s life cycle. Therefore, the aim was to develop an innovative approach based on the modelling of the relationship between materials and product quality within the framework of the sustainable design of alternative product solutions. The model framework includes selected elements of Quality Functional Development (QFD) and the first stage of life cycle assessment (LCA), namely, material acquisition and extraction. Its novelty lies in supporting the modelling process with life cycle data on materials characterised by their environmental burden. This modelling is based on their potential negative environment impact. Using this foundation, it becomes possible to consider alternative design solutions in terms of both quality (i.e., fulfilling customer satisfaction during use) and environmental performance (i.e., reducing the negative impact throughout the life cycle). The proposed modelling process was also tested, demonstrating its effectiveness in the material analysis of products. The solution can be applied to any material, and, with minor modifications, adapted to various product types. Full article

Cloud computing (CC) represents a key digital transformation advancement, reshaping the ways in which businesses operate across diverse industries. The exponential growth in data production has created an unprecedented challenge in the ways in which data is created, processed, and managed. This study investigates the impact of cloud computing on the digital transformation of the enterprise, including issues concerning sustainability and long-term preservation and curation. While there has been a proliferation of studies concerning the adoption and implementation of cloud computing in the enterprise, there is still a gap in the literature concerning the use of cloud computing technology for long-term preservation, digital curation, and sustainability. The study employed a mixed-methods approach that utilized a systematic review of the literature and an Internet-based survey. The combination of the systematic review and survey was intended to provide insights into the key strategic factors impacting the use of cloud computing for long-term preservation and sustainability. The results of the study show that, despite the growing recognition of the benefits of cloud computing, most organizations are still concerned about issues such as security, privacy, accessibility, and cost. Concerns regarding the long-term preservation and sustainability of enterprise information are closely tied to the extent to which cloud computing services are deemed reliable and trustworthy. This study underscores the varying levels of satisfaction among users, with businesses acknowledging both the advantages and disadvantages of the current cloud solutions. Full article
