Using Machine Learning to Model the Acceptance of Domestic Low-Carbon Technologies

This research addresses two specific knowledge gaps. The first regards the influence of domestic low-carbon technology (LCT) installation approaches and occupier status on user acceptance. The second is to demonstrate the role of machine learning techniques in producing an enhanced model-based understanding of domestic LCT acceptance. Together, these two approaches provide new insights into LCT acceptance through the theory of planned behaviour and demonstrate the value of machine learning for modelling such acceptance. Our aim is therefore to contribute to model-based knowledge about the acceptance of domestic LCTs. Specifically, we contribute new knowledge of the acceptance of LCTs according to the theory of planned behaviour and of the value of machine-learning techniques for modelling this acceptance. Through empirical research using an online quasi-experiment with 3813 English residents, we developed a model of low-carbon technology adoption and evaluated machine learning for model analysis. The design factors were the installation approach and occupier status, with main outcomes including adoption intention, willingness to accept, willingness to pay, attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioural control. To examine residents’ technology acceptance, we created two virtual reality models of technology implementation, differing in installation approach. For machine learning analysis, we employed nine techniques for model validation and predictor selection: linear regression, LASSO regression, ridge regression, support vector regression, regression tree (decision tree regression), random forest, XGBoost, k-NN, and neural network. LASSO regression emerged as the best technique in terms of predictor selection, with (near-)optimal model fit (R2 and MSE). We found that attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioural control significantly predicted the intention to adopt low-carbon technologies. The installation approach influenced willingness to accept, with higher intention for new-build installations than retrofits. Homeownership positively predicted perceived behavioural control, while age negatively predicted several outcomes. This study concludes with implications for policy and future research, a specific emphasis upon contemporary UK policy towards Future Homes Standards, and public information campaigns targeted to specific demographic user groups. This research demonstrates the value of an extended theory of planned behaviour model to study the acceptance of LCTs and the value of machine learning analysis in acceptance modelling. Full article

Objectives/Background: With increasing awareness of the association between physical activity and mental health, promoting youth health has gained prominence. For this, education and support are needed. As psychological school-based factors could be key to affecting this behavior, this study investigates middle school students’ trust in their physical education teachers and their grit, analyzing their effects on health-promoting behaviors that could follow these adolescents through adulthood. Methods: Middle school students, aged 12–14, were recruited from three schools in Sejong City, Korea, in May 2025; 420 survey questionnaires were distributed and 390 were returned (response rate: 92.86%). After eliminating those with insincere responses, 369 valid questionnaires (boys = 186, girls = 183) were analyzed. The analysis covered the descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation, and structural equation modeling, with grit, trust in physical education teachers, and health-promoting behaviors as variables. Results: The correlation analysis verified multicollinearity between trust in physical education teachers (closeness, fairness, teaching method, and physical ability), grit (effort, perseverance, and interest consistency), and health-promoting behaviors (self-actualization, health management, and stress management). A positive significant correlation was found between all subfactors (p < 0.05). The research model’s fit was confirmed through several fit indices; specifically, normed χ2 = 4.138, goodness-of-fit-index = 0.942, root mean square residual = 0.033, root mean square error of approximation = 0.092, incremental fit index = 0.965, Tucker–Lewis index = 0.947, and comparative fit index = 0.965, and all values were judged acceptable. The standardized coefficients of each latent variable explaining the measurement variables were 0.707 or higher. Therefore, the explanatory power of the measurement variables was also satisfactory; thus, the research model was appropriate and could be used for analysis. The model findings revealed that trust in physical education teachers had a positive effect on student grit (β = 0.505, p < 0.001) and that grit had a positive effect on health-promoting behaviors (β = 0.743, p < 0.001); however, trust in physical education teachers did not have a direct effect on health-promoting behaviors (statistically insignificant [β = 0.103, p > 0.05]). Thus, grit had a mediating effect between trust in physical education teachers and health-promoting behaviors (β = 0.375, p < 0.01). Conclusions: This study highlights the educational implications for physical education teachers of building trust and strengthening student grit as key factors in achieving sustainable health-promoting behaviors among adolescents. Interaction with mobile platforms changes users’ emotional and cognitive engagements through various stimuli cues that respond to behavioural intentions. Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR) foster more engagements and transform a new user–platform interaction paradigm in the e-commerce industry. This study signifies the effects of artificial intelligence and augmented reality in assessing user experience for mobile platforms. In this paper, we develop an interaction–engagement–intention model that considers users’ continuance intention based on perceived user experience. The proposed model uniquely explains a nuanced understanding of how the user–platform interactions evolve interactivity, product fit, artificial intelligence-driven recommendation, and online reviews in perceiving spatial presence and subjective norm. This paper explores the importance of attitude and trust as emotional states that influence the user’s behavioural responses. We validate the consequences of user–platform interactions toward continuance intention by conducting an online questionnaire survey and assessing user experience in augmented reality environments. The results contribute to adopting the co-created values of user–platform interactions through cognitive and emotional engagements that affect users’ continuance intention. The platform industry can apply the research outcomes by considering user experience and its implications to enhance the platforms’ capability with a broader aspect. Full article

Objectives: The present study seeks to analyze the relationships between the intensity of physical activity, mental hyperactivity and sleep quality. A comparative, descriptive and exploratory study was carried out. Methods: A sample of 1907 university students belonging to the degree of Physiotherapy and Physical Activity and Sport Sciences was used. The International Physical Activity and Mental Hyperactivity Questionnaires were used. The scale used was the Pittsburgh sleep quality index. The proposed model analyzes the relationships of physical activity with mental hyperactivity and various sleep-related factors. Results: The following fit indices were evaluated: Chi-Square = 80.242; Degrees of Freedom = 3; Incremental Fit Index = 0.951, Comparative Fit Index = 0.977; Normed Fit Index = 0.946; Root Mean Square Error of Approximation = 0.071. The values obtained show the good fit of the theoretical model. Statistically significant differences are observed (p < 0.05) in the causal relationship of mental hyperactivity with the personal assessment of sleep as a function of the intensity of physical activity. A greater effect of light (β = 0.671) compared to moderate- (β = 0.428) or vigorous-intensity (β = 0.343) physical activity in personal sleep assessment is evident. Statistically significant differences were also observed in the causal relationship of mental hyperactivity with the time to fall asleep (p < 0.05). Light physical activity (β = 0.479) has a greater causal relationship with time to fall asleep than moderate- (β = 0.302) or vigorous-intensity (β = 0.413) physical activity. Conclusions: Based on the results obtained, it is concluded that the intensity with which physical activity is performed has a modulating effect on sleep quality and mental hyperactivity. The aim of the article is to present the impact of blending diesel fuel with tire pyrolysis (TPO) oil on the changes in the fuel’s rheological properties and to evaluate these changes in the context of meeting legal requirements for various types of fuels. This research presents the impact of normative D100 diesel oil with TPO as an admixture on the rheological properties of the blends. Measurements are made for the content of TPO in the blend equal to 5, 7, 10, 15, and 20% m/m. In addition, the reference measurements are made for pure diesel oil and pure pyrolytic oil. Kinematic viscosity density, dynamic viscosity, viscosity index, pour point, cloud point, and cold filter plugging point are determined. The density of each sample is found at 15, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100 °C. Viscosity is determined at the reference temperatures of 20, 40, and 100 °C, which are typically used as reference temperatures for petroleum products. Approximating models are built for all the analyzed parameters, which can be used in future studies. The fit of each model to empirical data is evaluated using the coefficient of determination R2. At the same time, the individual values of the analyzed indicators are compared to the limit values specified in selected standards and regulations, thus allowing us to assess the usefulness of individual fuels in terms of compliance with effective and reliable engine operation requirements. The fuels under study fulfill the normative requirements for the parameters for marine distillate fuels for blends with a pyrolysis oil content of 0–20% m/m and the requirements for standard-grade diesel oils indicated in the Regulation of the Minister of Economy of Poland for blends with a pyrolysis oil content of 0–7% m/m. This article critically examines the star persona of Lola Flores, an iconic Spanish flamenco artist, within the historical and political context of Francoist Spain (1939–1975). It argues that Flores’s carefully constructed star image not only persisted into post-Franco Spain but also served as a covert vehicle for the continued propagation of National-Falangist Catholic ideology. The article primarily focuses on two major productions: the book Lola en carne viva. Memorias de Lola Flores (1990) and the television series El coraje de vivir (1994). Both portray a linear and cohesive version of her life from childhood to her later years, carefully curated to defend and rehabilitate her image. While many view Flores as a self-made artist, the article argues that her star persona was a deliberate construct—shaped by Suevia Films, a major Francoist-era film studio, and media narratives that aligned her with traditional gender roles, Catholic values, and Spanish nationalism. Despite emerging in post-Franco Spain, Flores’s narrative does not mark a rupture from the ideological frameworks of the past. Instead, it repackages Francoist values—particularly those surrounding patriarchal gender norms, suffering, and the glorification of sacrifice—to ensure her continued relevance. Suevia Films (1951) played a significant role in shaping her star persona as a symbol of Spanish folklore, aligning her with Francoist ideals of nation, Catholic morality, and submissive femininity. Her image was used to promote Spain internationally as a welcoming and culturally rich destination. Her persona fit within Franco’s broader strategy of using flamenco and folklore to attract foreign tourism while maintaining tight ideological control over entertainment. Flores’s life is framed as a rags-to-riches story, which reinforces Social Spencerist ideology (a social Darwinist perspective) that hard work and endurance lead to success, rather than acknowledging systemic oppression under Francoism. Her personal struggles—poverty, romantic disappointments, accusations of collaboration with the Franco regime, and tax evasion—are framed as necessary trials that strengthen her character. This aligns with the Catholic ideal of redemptive suffering, reinforcing her status as the mater dolorosa (Sorrowful Mother) figure. This article highlights the contradictions in Flores’s gender performance—while she embodied passion and sensuality in flamenco, her offstage identity conformed to the submissive, self-sacrificing woman idealized by the Francoist Sección Femenina (SF). Even in her personal life, Flores’s narrative aligns with Francoist values—her father’s bar, La Fe de Pedro Flores, symbolizes the fusion of religion, nationalism, and traditional masculinity. Tico Medina plays a key role by framing Lola en carne viva as an “authentic” and unfiltered account. His portrayal is highly constructed, acting as her “defense lawyer” to counter criticisms. Flores’s autobiography is monologic—it suppresses alternative perspectives, ensuring that her version of events remains dominant and unquestioned. Rather than acknowledging structural oppression, the narrative glorifies suffering as a path to resilience, aligning with both Catholic doctrine and Francoist propaganda. The article ultimately deconstructs Lola Flores’s autobiographical myth, demonstrating that her public persona—both onstage and offstage—was a strategic construction that perpetuated Francoist ideals well beyond the dictatorship. While her image has been celebrated as a symbol of Spanish cultural identity, it also functioned as a tool for maintaining patriarchal and nationalist ideologies under the guise of entertainment. Background/Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of children and adolescent cancer survivors in relation to previously published normative values for typically developing children and adolescents, as well as to analyze the differences in HRQoL based on their levels of physical activity and fitness. Methods: Cross-sectional study with 116 cancer survivors (12.1 ± 3.3 years, 57.8% boys) from two pediatric oncology units in Andalusia (Spain). HRQoL was assessed using PedsQL 4.0 Generic Core Scales. Physical activity was measured with accelerometers, and fitness was evaluated using self-reported and objective tests for muscular fitness. Independent samples t-tests to compare HRQoL between our sample and the normative values published for typically developing children and adolescents of the same age and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) were conducted to assess differences in HRQoL according to physical activity and fitness categories in our sample. Results: Children and adolescent cancer survivors had lower HRQoL scores compared to typically developing children’s and adolescents’ normative values, except for social functioning. Higher levels of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity were associated with better total, physical, and psychosocial HRQoL scores. Children and adolescent cancer survivors with better levels of cardiorespiratory fitness, motor fitness, and flexibility reported better HRQoL scores in total and psychosocial domains. However, muscular fitness (self-reported and objectively measured) did not show a significant difference in HRQoL. Conclusions: Children and adolescent cancer survivors experience lower HRQoL than their typically developing counterparts. Engaging in at least 30 min of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity per day is associated with fewer HRQoL impairments. Improved fitness, particularly cardiorespiratory fitness, motor fitness, and flexibility, are associated with better HRQoL outcomes. These findings highlight the association between physical activity, fitness levels, and HRQoL in children and adolescent cancer survivors, suggesting the potential benefits of promoting physical activity and enhancing fitness levels. Background: The harmonious development of gross motor skills (GMSs) is vital for children, fostering their physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional growth. This study aimed to achieve three primary objectives: (1) to establish standardized reference values for all GMS tests conducted; (2) to examine the impact of overweight and obesity on factors influencing the development of GMSs and cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF); and (3) to investigate the relationship between GMSs and CRF levels and body image dissatisfaction among Canadian children from the province of Québec. Methods: The study encompassed 3144 children aged 6 to 12 years (1535 boys and 1609 girls) recruited from 24 elementary schools situated in five urban areas. Anthropometric measurements included body mass, body height, and body mass index (BMI). Physical performance was assessed using a maximal aerobic power test and 12 GMS tests, which comprised two segmental speed tests, four agility tests, two static balance tests, one simple reaction time test, and three coordination tests. Body perception and body image dissatisfaction were evaluated using a silhouette scale featuring two sets of nine drawings depicting a spectrum of body shapes ranging from very thin to obese. Results: Standardized normative values were established for each GMS test. GMSs demonstrated continuous improvement throughout childhood, albeit with a deceleration in progress during later developmental stages. At comparable age, boys generally outperformed girls on tests demanding greater strength, speed, or endurance, whereas girls exhibited superior performance in balance and hand–foot coordination tasks (p ≤ 0.05). However, segmental speed remained equivalent between sexes (p > 0.05). GMS and CRF were significantly influenced by obesity status. Children with a normal BMI demonstrated superior performance compared to their overweight or obese counterparts, particularly in tests requiring body mass displacement (p ≤ 0.05). Conversely, socioeconomic status exhibited no significant impact on body perception in boys (p = 0.106), but it was a notable factor among 6–8-year-old girls from lower socioeconomic backgrounds (p = 0.045). Conclusions: Obesity status is linked to diminished GMS performance, especially in tasks involving body mass movement. These findings underscore the importance of early intervention strategies to encourage an active lifestyle and promote a healthy body composition in children. Full article

Value alignment for AI is not “one-size-fits-all”: even polite and friendly models can still fail to represent individual user contexts and preferences, and local cultural norms. This paper presents a modular workflow for personal fine-tuning, synthesizing four core components from our previous research: (1) robust vectorization of user values and preferences, (2) a binary choice user interface (UI) approach to capturing those preferences with minimal cognitive load, (3) contrastive activation methods for steering large language models (LLMs) via difference vectors, and (4) knowledge graph integration for more auditable and structured alignment. Our approach—descended from past research on “Towards an End-to-End Personal Fine-Tuning Framework”—demonstrates how these elements can be combined to create personalized, context-rich alignment solutions. We report on user studies for the forced-choice UI, describe an experimental pipeline for deriving “control vectors”, and propose a “moral graph” method for bridging symbolic and vector-based alignment. Our findings suggest that multi-pronged personalization can significantly reduce user annotation fatigue, improve alignment fidelity, and allow for more flexible, interpretable AI behaviors. This research presents the impact of diesel blends with tire pyrolysis oil (TPO) as an additive for minimizing the wear and tear of engine components. This study investigates the blends of normative diesel oil with TPO content ranging from 5% m/m to 20% m/m. Reference measurements are made for pure diesel oil (D100) and pure TPO. This investigation included an evaluation of the corrosion effect and the effect of the fuels tested on abrasive wear. For each fuel, the sulfur content, water content, lubricity (which is defined as the corrected average diameter of the wear trace during the high-frequency reciprocating rig (HFRR) test), and impurity content are determined. Impurities are assessed using indicators such as ash residue, coking residue from 10% distillation residue, determination of wear metals and contaminants, insoluble impurity content, and total sediment by hot filtration. All parameters are determined using recognized methods described in international standards. Approximation models are built for all the analyzed parameters, which can be used in future studies. At the same time, the individual values of the analyzed factors are compared with the threshold values specified in selected standards and regulations. Consequently, it is possible to assess the usefulness of individual fuels in terms of meeting the requirements for minimum wear of engine components. The results show the suitability of pyrolysis oil and the potential for its use as an additive to fossil fuels in terms of meeting most factors. Some of the fuels tested did not meet the standards for acceptable sulfur content. However, in terms of sulfur content, all of the analyzed fuels can be used to power watercraft and land-based power and thermal power plants equipped with flue gas desulphurization systems. A second indicator for not meeting the standards is the ash residue value, which indicates the high content of non-combustible, mainly metallic, substances in the pyrolysis oil used for the tests. Post-recycled oils must, therefore, undergo appropriate purification before being used as an additive to diesel fuels for internal combustion engines. Antecedents of Consumers’ Green Beauty Product Brand Purchase Intentions: An Extended Theory of Planned Behavior Approach

Societies across the globe are growing increasingly environmentally aware, resulting in more and more consumers demanding eco-friendly product alternatives. This phenomenon is also evident in the beauty industry, with many beauty brands striving to add green beauty products to their range and new green beauty product brands continuously emerging in markets. Despite the increased popularity of green beauty products, there is a paucity of published research concerning the antecedents of consumers’ green beauty product brand purchase intentions. As such, the goal of this study was to apply an extended version of the theory of planned behavior to ascertain the factors that predict consumers’ green beauty product brand purchase intentions. Following an explanatory research design, data were gathered from 500 consumers in South Africa. Data analysis comprised structural equation modeling. Confirmatory factor analysis revealed a reliable and valid seven-factor measurement model with good model fit. The path analysis results indicate that collectively perceived environmental knowledge, perceived behavior control, green beauty product ethicality beliefs, green beauty product attitudes, socio-altruistic values, and subjective norms account for 77 percent of the variance in consumers’ purchase intentions toward green beauty product brands. The findings of this study provide a comprehensive view of the antecedents of consumers’ green beauty product brand purchase intentions, which will be of significant value to beauty product marketers in or seeking to enter the green product market. In addition, the psychometric properties and strong predictive power of this model reflect a research instrument that can be used in future research into consumers’ purchase intentions toward green beauty products. (1) Background: With the growing severity of global environmental issues and increasing consumer health consciousness, green consumption has become a prominent focus in both research and practice. However, studies on the mechanisms of health consciousness and environmental awareness influencing the purchase intentions of sports enthusiasts toward sustainable sports products remain relatively limited. This study investigates how health consciousness and environmental awareness impact the green consumption behavior of sports enthusiasts through psychological pathways, including attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control, aiming to reveal their underlying mechanisms. (2) Methods: Based on the extended Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), this study developed a theoretical model incorporating health consciousness and environmental awareness. Data were collected via a questionnaire survey, yielding 407 valid responses. The sample was gender-balanced (52.8% male, 47.2% female), predominantly consisting of young individuals aged 26–35 (44.7%) and 18–25 (28.0%), with primary occupations being company employees/managers (46.2%) and students/teachers (25.3%). The collected data were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS software to systematically evaluate the research hypotheses and the model’s applicability. (3) Results: The model exhibited excellent fit indices, with a χ2/df value of 2.129, an RMSEA value of 0.053, an RMR value of 0.029, and GFI, CFI, NFI, and NNFI values all exceeding 0.90, indicating that the model structure adequately explained the relationships among latent variables. All research hypotheses were significantly supported (p < 0.01), demonstrating that health consciousness and environmental awareness not only directly influence purchase intentions but also exert significant indirect effects through attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control. (4) Conclusions: Health consciousness and environmental awareness are critical drivers of sports enthusiasts’ purchasing behavior for sustainable sports products. This study deepens the understanding of the mechanisms underlying green consumption behavior and offers practical implications for related businesses. Companies should enhance product healthiness and environmental friendliness while optimizing consumer psychological perceptions to increase purchase intentions. Full article

Background: The obesity epidemic among adolescents significantly impacts not only their physical health but also various psychological factors, including their perception of body image. Thus, this study pursued three main objectives: (1) to update the reference standard values for all the physical fitness tests performed; (2) to examine the impact of overweight and obesity on factors influencing physical fitness in adolescents; and (3) to determine the relationship between the physical fitness level and the body image dissatisfaction among a population of French-Canadian adolescents. Methods: A total of 1862 adolescents aged 12 to 17 (1008 boys and 854 girls) participated in this study. Data were collected from 12 French-language high-schools from different socioeconomic backgrounds and spread across four regions of the province of Québec, Canada. Anthropometric measures (body mass, body height, body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, waist-to-height ratio) and fitness tests (aerobic power, anaerobic power, muscle endurance, muscular power, flexibility) were conducted. To assess adolescents’ body perception, a silhouette scale was used. Results: Standardized normative values were established for each fitness test (Lambda Mu Sigma; LMS method). In boys, performance generally improved with age, except for the V-test and sit-ups, which remained stable, and VO2peak, which declined during adolescence in both genders (unpaired t-test and Cohen’s d effect size). In girls, only the vertical jump and 30 m sprint improved with age, while the other tests stabilized by age 13. Fitness level was significantly influenced by obesity status. Boys and girls with a normal BMI performed better than those who were overweight or obese (ANOVA = p < 0.001 and effect size F). Girls appeared to be less affected by obesity status, with differences between overweight and obese groups rarely being significant (p > 0.05). Fitness level was also linked to body satisfaction, with satisfied adolescents generally achieving better scores than dissatisfied ones, even among those with a typical BMI. Socioeconomic status did not impact body image perception in boys (p = 0.351). In contrast, girls from lower socioeconomic backgrounds exhibited significantly more negative perceptions (p = 0.002) than their peers from more affluent families. Conclusions: Obesity status is strongly associated with poorer performance on fitness tests. Conversely, higher levels of physical fitness are linked to improved body image satisfaction. This positive relationship between fitness and body image holds true even for individuals with a healthy body weight (typical BMI). Full article

Objectives: The main purpose of this study is to identify the relative effect of age (RAE) according to norm values on the anthropometric performance and physical fitness of children between the ages of 9 and 11 years. The data, namely the percentiles of anthropometric parameters and physical fitness, are relevant for identifying the RAE in relation to gender and the month of birth in children. Methods: For the sample in this study, 1185 young people from Kosovo were enrolled, including 626 males and 559 females aged 9–11 years. The gathered data were assessed via the EUROFIT methodology, which takes into account comparisons based on the quartile of birth and the relative age effect (RAE). Results: The results of the data show us that there are significant differences in the RAE among children born in Q2 at the age of 9 years, especially in boys, as well as significant differences in the height variable at the <0.005 significance level. Others factors did not show significant differences, for example, variables that are indicators of physical fitness. For both boys and girls born in Q1, significant differences were mainly found in the indicators of explosive strength, flexibility, static strength, speed, and agility, with a level of significance of p < 0.001, while other indicators did not show significant differences. In addition, there was a significant difference the ratio between genders at the p < 0.001 and p < 0.005 levels, mainly among those born in Q1 and Q2. Similarly, at 10 years of age, children who were born earlier in the year had better scores, although the large disparities were more noticeable between quartiles than between genders, where the significant differences were mainly in the indicators of explosive strength, speed, and strength at the p < 0.001 level, as well as static strength, agility, and speed at the p < 0.005 level. Significant differences were also found for the indicators in terms of gender. At the age of 11, significant percentiles were mainly found in the quartiles at the beginning of the year for both boys and girls, and significant differences were also found at the p < 0.001 level for RAE between quartiles and gender. Conclusions: By using these data, it will be possible to highlight how males, who have demonstrated notable advantages in anthropometric and physical fitness measures, as well as those born in the first few months of the year, exhibit a relative age effect (RAE) in accordance with gender norm values. The Impact of Karate and Yoga on Children’s Physical Fitness: A 10-Week Intervention Study

This study investigated the effects of a 10-week intervention incorporating karate and yoga on the physical fitness of children aged 10–13. Conducted on a sample of 67 boys, the participants were divided into three groups: karate, yoga, and a control group. Each group underwent physical assessments before and after the intervention, focusing on various fitness components measured by the International Physical Fitness Test (MTSF). The intervention sessions were held twice a week and included warm-up exercises, karate or yoga elements, and cool-down. The results demonstrated significant improvements (p > 0.05) in most physical fitness parameters among the karate and yoga groups in trials: run 50 m, jump, run, endurance, hanging, run, agility, sit-ups, and forward bend. However, there was no significant improvement in hand strength, indicating that the intervention might not have adequately targeted this aspect of fitness. The overall MTSF values changed as follows. For the karate group, the results improved significantly, with the mean increasing by 6.95 ± 0.71. In the yoga group, the results also improved significantly, with the mean increasing by 8.74, while the standard deviation changed by −0.19. In contrast, the control group, which did not participate in additional activities, showed a decline in performance in some areas, notably hand strength and jumping ability. Total MTSF value decreased by −1.05, and the standard deviation changed by 0.71. The findings suggest that both karate and yoga can effectively enhance children’s physical fitness, bringing their performance closer to age-adjusted norms. The study highlights the value of structured physical activity programs in promoting the physical development of children. Although no significant differences were observed between the karate and yoga groups, both interventions contributed similarly to overall fitness improvements. Future research should explore additional factors, such as diet and other physical activities, to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the intervention’s effects. Full article
