Dear Colleagues,

As the Editor-in-Chief of Water, I am pleased to announce the winners of the Water 2022 Travel Awards.

The awards have been granted to Dr. Sabolc Pap, a postdoctoral researcher at Environmental Research Institute, NHC, UHI; Dr. Xuexiu Jia, a postdoctoral researcher at Brno University of Technology; and Dr. Angelos Alamanos, a postdoctoral researcher at Dundalk Institute of Technology. They will receive CHF 800 each as well as the opportnity to attend an international conference in 2022.

Dr. Sabolc Pap plans to present his work entitled “New technology to recover phosphorus from wastewater within the Circular Economy: a Scottish case study” at the 4th European Sustainable Phosphorus Conference 2022 (ESPC4). Dr. Xuexiu Jia plans to present her work entitled “Promising Approaches Towards Carbon Neutrality in Seawater Desalination” at The 8th International Conference on Water Resource and Environment (WRE 2022).

Dr. Angelos Alamanos plans to present his work entitled “Integrated modelling for the optimal resource use, production-economic outputs, and emissions control: A Goal Programming model for Irish agriculture” at the 39th IAHR World Congress 2022.

Due to the numerous high-quality applicants, the evaluation process and final decision were challenging. We would like to thank all the applicants for submitting a diverse and fascinating range of research topics. On behalf of the Assessment Committee, I congratulate the winners on their accomplishments.
