Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Since the development of pre-and post-liver transplant management, the outcomes of liver transplantation have been improving. However, infection after organ transplantation is still one of the most important complicated issues of immunosuppressants. In particular, fungal infection after not liver, but other organ transplantation, has been correlated with negative outcomes, as well as morbidity and mortality, after transplantation. Moreover, viral infections such as Epstein Bar virus, which has a well-known as a risk of lymphoproliferative disorder including malignant lymphoma, and others, should be monitored and managed, even in long term follow-up liver transplant recipients, so as to improve the outcomes of liver transplantation.
In the present Special Issue, we aim to collect a number of reviews and original articles that highlight the innovative monitoring and management of infections in patients that have undergone liver transplantation, including innovative monitoring and management of rejection and the maintenance of immunosuppressants in the recent era. Not only fungal infection but also bacterial and viral infections after liver transplantation are topics welcome for submission.
In summary, this Special Issue will help readers to get an up-to-date and authoritative view of the management of infection after liver transplantation in order to improve the outcome of liver transplant recipients.
