Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Adolescence is a crucial stage in human development marked by rapid physical, cognitive, and emotional changes. During this phase, individuals are highly susceptible to the influence of social and educational policies. Therefore, the impact of these policies on adolescent mental health is a topic of growing concern and research interest. The well-being of young individuals is influenced by a complex interplay of social and educational policies. The effects of these policies can have long-lasting impacts on their mental health. Hence, it is essential to understand how both social and educational policies impact adolescent mental health outcomes to create a supportive and nurturing environment for them.
Scholars, researchers, and practitioners from various disciplines are invited to contribute to a Special Issue of Societies that focuses on " The Intersections of Social and Educational Policies Impacting Adolescent Mental Health." This Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive platform for academics and professionals to share and discuss their research findings, insights, experiences, and perspectives on the intersection of social and educational policies and adolescent mental health.
We are accepting manuscripts that cover a broad range of topics related to the impact of social and educational policies on the mental health of adolescents. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Investigating the effects of education policies such as standardized testing and curriculum changes on adolescent stress and mental well-being;
- Evaluating the effectiveness of mental health policies and interventions on adolescents;
- Analyzing the role of social policies (e.g., welfare, housing, immigration) in influencing adolescent mental health outcomes;
- Developing policy approaches to addressing disparities in mental health access and outcomes among adolescents;
- Conducting comparative studies examining the mental health implications of different policy approaches across countries or regions;
- Identifying the role of school-based mental health programs in policy development;
- Evaluating the influence of family, socioeconomic, and cultural factors within policy frameworks;
- Assessing the impact of digital and social media policies on adolescent well-being;
- Developing policy implications to address substance use and addiction on adolescent mental health;
- Discussing ethical and legal considerations in adolescent mental health policy development;
- Investigating the relationship between socioeconomic disparities and mental health outcomes among adolescents;
- Developing prevention and/or intervention programs and policy recommendations to promote positive mental health in adolescents.
