Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue of the Sensors entitled “Sensing Technology for Telehealth Applications” will focus on all aspects of research and development related to this field. Sensing technology plays a pivotal role in telehealth applications, enabling remote monitoring, assessment, and management of patients' health conditions, in particular chronic conditions. Papers which focus on the design, evaluation, knowledge synthesis and implementation of sensing technology for telehealth applications will be included. It is the goal of this Special Issue to provide a broad platform for showcasing the many rapid advances in the field encompassing wearable devices (e.g., smartwatches, fitness trackers), remote patient monitoring devices, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, mobile health (mHealth) apps, biometric sensors, connected care, telemedicine cameras and video conferencing, point-of-care testing devices, remote imaging and diagnostic tools, digital twins for healthcare, and voice and speech analysis and teleophthalmology devices. It is envisioned that by allowing sufficient breadth in the submissions accepted, similarities across market segments may be realized by researchers in these different application areas, which will thus provide synergistic comparisons that may enhance the overall efforts of implementing sensing technology for telehealth applications throughout the world at the present time. Integration of sensing technology for telehealth applications enhances patient care, facilitates early detection, and improves chronic condition management, ultimately leading to better outcomes and cost-effective healthcare.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
